Chicka Chicka Boom Boom has always been a favorite. I first fell in love with in when teaching preschool and love that it has been a household staple for years. The rhythmic language used to teach kids about the alphabet is catchy and fun, especially when all the letters topple from the top of the coconut tree.
For Chicka Chicka Boom Boom lovers, Scholastic Storybook Treasures Chicka Chicka 1-2-3 makes the makes counting companion of a classic favorite come alive. Preschool-age Captain Computer loves watching the numbers race to the top of the apple tree in this delightful version.
Chicka Chicka 1-2-3 is only one of four fabulous stories on the 69 minute DVD. The other stories integrate math themes as well. Little Miss Techie loves David Schwartz’s two stories: Home Much is a Million and If You Made a Million. She’s also a big fan of Rosemary Wells’ Emily’s First 100 Days of School because her kindergarten class is keeping track of each day they are in school. For anyone wondering when the 100th day of school is, it typically is sometime in February!
Scholastic Storybook Treasures Chicka Chicka 1-2-3 retails for $14.95 and is geared towards ages 3-8. Purchase Chicka Chicka 1-2-3 from the Scholastic Store and get 15% off your order of $39 or more or win a copy!
