I’ve been using YourShape Fitness on the Kinect for the past 6 weeks and am halfway towards my 12 weeks of documenting my progress.
There are days that I’ve stepped on the scale feeling strong and like I should weigh less but yet the number on the digital display is always about the same. Give or take those pesky tenths of a pound.
So I try not to obsess about my weight. My scale sits in a corner of the bathroom mostly unused except by our kids who love to see the numbers appear on the small screen and exclaim that they are getting bigger. Ah to be 4 and 7!
I was thrilled to report in my 4th week of using YourShape that I lost a pound right before Thanksgiving and pleasantly surprised that I hadn’t eaten my weight in fish tacos upon returning home from San Diego last week.
On Friday I stepped on the scale to be pleasantly surprised that it registered a whole 2 pounds lighter than usual. Chalking it up to water weight or wearing lighter clothes, I figured that the weight would be back today but it wasn’t!
This week I lost 2 pounds that have stayed off for a few days!
What’s my secret? I don’t have one. Maybe my body is finally getting used to the YourShape Workouts and perhaps my metabolism is finally being affected in a positive way. Maybe the fact that I grab lunch on the go (Oikos yogurt and a handful of nuts from Trader Joe’s) is also helping.
Will I be surprised to see those 2 pounds reappear next week? No, but I certainly hope they are gone for good!
Weekly summary:
Total pounds lost: 3 (!)
