Scholastic Headquarters in SoHo, NYC |
5 years ago when I started blogging, Scholastic was the very first brand that ever reached out to me so it was an honor to emcee their #eScholastic brunch at their SoHo headquarters in New York City recently. In a room full of familiar blogging friends, I shared how Scholastic is a brand that I know I can count on for quality educational materials.
Fellow parents and bloggers came to hear about Scholastic’s newest educational resources |
I used to order books for my classroom and professional library from Scholastic Book Club orders, let my students practice reading for information in Scholastic News– both the hard copy and online, and as a parent, how I love bringing home Scholastic titles from the Scholastic Book Fairs not only to help foster a love of reading at home but also because shopping helps our school earn money from each and every sale.

Over brunch with friends and a fantastic view, we learned about all things E: eReading, eLearning, and eLections and whether you attended the event or read the Tweets, everyone is invited to talk eReading, eLearning, and more with me as I take over Scholastic’s Facebook page this Wednesday (tomorrow!) from 2-3 pm EST.
It’s the perfect conversation to have as we head back to school since Scholastic has great resources for parents. We’ll talk about the joys and challenges that a new school year brings plus tools from Scholastic Parents that can make parenting easier. So please come join me!
Here are the details about my Scholastic Facebook takeover!
- What: A discussion about eReading, eLearning, and more with me and Scholastic!

And have you had a chance to take a look at Storia? It’s Scholastic’s fun, educational, eReading app for kids that works on Windows and iPad (and soon Android!) and is a huge hit in our house! Our kids love reading but even more so on the iPad. I love that they are reading books featuring their favorite titles and characters and how reading on the iPad serves as a constant motivator.
Storia is instantly engaging, even for the most reluctant of readers, and when you download it, you get 5 free books to start your eReading library!
Christy Crawford, technology teacher at P.S. 51 in The Bronx shared how she uses Storia with her students and with her own children at home |
While Scholastic compensated me for my time for my role as emcee and provided a gift bag of goodies and gift certificate for shopping at the Scholastic store for attending brunch, I’ve personally spent oodles of money on books for my classroom, home, and for my own professional development as a teacher through the years.
