As a savvy consumer, I like to maximize every dollar we spend by signing up for member rewards programs that help defray expenses on future shopping trips. I figure if I’m spending money, it’s always nice to get some back! I’ve always been a fan of Office Depot’s Rewards program because it made it easy to accumulate points that translated into money off of my purchases but their new rewards program makes it even easier to earn and redeem points.
I am participating in the #ODRewards campaign sponsored by Office Depot. For more information, about Office Depot Rewards, visit their website.
Office Depot Rewards provides a point-based system where $1 translates into 10 points. $10 Rewards Certificates are issued online for every 1000 points earned. Rewards can be redeemed monthly, rather than quarterly like other office supply retailers. This means you can use them on the things you want and need sooner, rather than having to wait a full quarter for your Reward Certificates to come.
I appreciate how Office Depot Rewards benefits can be personalized according to my preferences thanks to programs that are designed for loyal consumers, Star Teachers (more on that soon!), and local businesses. Members choose up to two categories that describe them and receive promotions for products that are most relevant to them and fit their lifestyle.
Love office supplies as much as I do? You can earn Choice Member status. Those who spend $200 a quarter earn 2,000 points and become Choice Members. These members earn more points because they have the ability to select five categories among the available 30 (think writing instruments, desks, classroom decorations, etc.) to receive points on for the following quarter. Each $1 spent in the selected categories earns an additional 5 points!
Office Depot also provides points for recycling things like ink cartridges when you bring them back to the store. Every cartridge recycle is worth 200 points and Office Depot lets you recycle up to 10 per month!
Office Depot’s Rewards program features provide nice incentives for me to continue shopping at a place that I’ve always viewed as a primary destination for school essentials both as a parent but also when I was a classroom teacher. I appreciate their commitment to savings, style, and also the fact that they’re very generous in giving back to teachers throughout the year.
If you’re a teacher, be on the lookout for your local Office Depot’s Teacher Appreciation Breakfast on an upcoming Saturday. This event is designed to be a fun way to kick off the year with food, gifts with purchases, a 20% discount, and up to 30 points on ever $1 spent on products for your classroom! More information to come soon!
