The gluttony of the season is upon us with Thanksgiving kicking of a series of events where overeating is always a possibility. This year we will be having a nice quiet Thanksgiving at home where we’ll be breaking up the eating with time for Xbox 360 Kinect play in between.
I’m looking forward to starting the day off with YourShape: Fitness Evolved‘s Zen Energy yoga before I dive into cooking. We’ll have a light lunch before the main event where we’ll stuff ourselves with our favorites. Before the tryptophan sets in, it will be time for some games. Not only will moving help keep us awake but some family game time with the kids’ favorites like Smash Game and Light Race are the perfect way to burn some extra calories together before the dessert course- pumpkin cheesecake with whipped cream! Yum!
Friday morning I have a date with my uber-fit trainer guy who will undoubtedly help me work off carb calories. Just like a trainer in real life, my virtual trainer motivates with helpful feedback but for a fraction of the cost.
My virtual trainer prefers when I refrain from taking photos during our session! Notice how our green squares are disconnected? We are out of synch which gets me in trouble! |
Kinect technology works in conjunction with YourShape to detect movement. This allows my trainer to tell me how to correct my form to ensure I won’t get hurt by doing something incorrectly. Even if I’m not exactly meeting YourShape’s goal to burn 800+ calories with each workout session, the variety of activities and satisfaction of knowing I’m getting a good workout when I feel the burn of muscles being worked is great!
Weekly Goal Summary:
Calories and the amount of time I spend working out is boring to keep track of and probably to read about too! My goal is to work towards losing 10 pounds. Yesterday I stepped on the scale to find that I lost 1 lb! Hooray! I bet that sucker will be right back on Friday. I just hope it doesn’t bring along any friends because now that I’ve visited the YourShape website’s Tools section, I know exactly what it takes to lose a pound!
What are you doing for Thanksgiving? Will you be eating, exercising, or a little of both? Do you count calories or give yourself the day off?
Whatever you do, have a fabulous time with friends and family and I wish you safe travels or a nice time at home!
Ubisoft provided me with a copy of Your Shape: Fitness Evolved and is sponsoring this series of reviews, though the opinions I’ve expressed here are solely my own and represent my honest viewpoint. Ubisoft, Clever Girls Collective and I promote Blog With Integrity. Xbox 360 andKinect were provided for review by Microsoft.

You are really selling me on the Kinect! I’m not adding it to my Christmas list but might think about getting on after Christmas!
