Karoo is a new free app from Care.com helps leverage the technology parents already use into an easy to use app that serves as a communication tool with caregivers. It allows parents to create a trusted network of caregivers who can update the timeline to share important updates about their child regularly. Karoo helps ensure that you’re kept updated about important moments that can often be guilt inducing due to the inability to be there during every second of your child’s day.
Karoo is an iPhone app (Android version coming soon!) that allows parents and caregivers to stay in touch about special moments through photos, videos, and comments about the child’s day through a timeline. At any point in the day, a parent can log into Karoo to view a timeline of their child’s day and write back with a comment, making it an ongoing way for parent and caregivers to communicate throughout the day. It ensures that important pieces of information are shared immediately so they aren’t forgotten during the busy transitional periods of the day.
The never ending balance of work and home become easier with CareLogs. Caregivers such as a spouse, day care provider, grandparent sitter, or nanny, can provide information about feedings, medical issues, and other updates that become part of the timeline.
Karoo maintains family privacy by allowing parents to grant access to trusted caregivers, friends, and family members to view the timeline. Settings can be toggled so more than one person can contribute to the timeline but comments and postings can be restricted on an individual basis. Additionally, access can be revoked at any time, preventing the individual from seeing updates and contributing to the Karoo timeline.
With no space limits or charges, parents, caregivers, friends and family members can share as much as they’d like. Karoo allows the timeline to be printed through an online interface and is looking towards adding photo books, stamps, and other products in the future.
