There is something deeply satisfying about getting the best price possible but is it worth the time to do price comparison research at home before driving around to the different stores that offer the best deal? While some say yes, others say no. I love getting the most for my money but my time is worth something. Not to mention the gas that’s required to run around town too.
As I prepare to leave on a week-long adventure (more on that very soon!), I’m also in the midst of planning Thomas’ 4th grade class Halloween party. I’ve sent home fliers about the part and asked for volunteers to sign up to help with different parts of the party, it’s my job to shop for the party supplies and snacks. Operating with a limited budget from parent donations, I like to maximize our class funds but this doesn’t mean making myself crazy by making multiple stops to buy decorations, food, and other necessary party supplies.
This year I’m relying on Retale to help save me time and money. Retale is a free location based deals app designed to you save money at your favorite major retailers. This iOS and Android app allows shoppers to discover and clip coupons from stores like Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, Jo-Ann’s and CVS as you shop for Halloween supplies. Retale puts the latest deals and coupons in your hands for you to shop smart because it searches nearby stores and hours to plan the most budget-friendly, efficient shopping trip.
Getting Started with Retale
After downloading the free Retale app for your iOS or Android phone or Apple Watch, you can select retailers whose circulars you’d like delivered to your mobile device.
This allows you to scroll through ads of stores where you shop, save single pages so you remember to shop for certain deals when you go to that store, get alerts before the offer expires, and even create shopping lists.
As much as I try to stick to my shopping list, there are always those must-have last-minute purchases. I’m glad I can use Retale to search for coupons while at the store! The app also allows you to search for individual products, receive automatic notifications to know when your favorite stores are offering promotions, and even find addresses, opening hours, and telephone numbers.
Retale enhances your shopping experience by making it easier to find great deals and in-store promotions at major retailers in locations around the country. For more tips on how you can get more for your money, Retale President, Pat Dermody, has these three Halloween shopping tips.
Buy a Few Standout Pieces
Less can be more as long as you are strategic. Purchase at least one item that is attention grabbing for each corner of the house, such as a sign for the door, a tinsel cat for the dining table, pumpkin lights for the walls, and a decorative pillow for the couch. These items are eye-catching and instantly dress up your space for Halloween.
Research Early But Don’t Buy Everything Off Your List at Once
Some retailers will offer bundle or large-order promotions on Halloween décor, so stock up on most items you plan to purchase. However, for single items that aren’t at the top of your list such as that pumpkin scented candle or party plates, wait until a week or two before the 31st. As the day gets closer, many retailers will sell items at clearance prices to get products off the shelves- snatch up these items when the opportunity arises!
Double Check for Any Deals or Coupons Before You Swipe Your Card
There might be a sale on another Halloween door sign that’s almost identical to the one you picked up. Or another retailer might have a 20% off coupon that you can scan at the register. Before you make the purchase, save time and money by looking online and at apps such as Retale to make sure you’re getting the most out of the bucks you’re paying.
To acquaint me with the offerings from Retale’s retailers, I received a basket of Halloween decorations containing items the items in this post and those in the basket above. No compensation was received for this post and all opinions are my own. Some images courtesy of Retale.
