Sunday night I had the pleasure of attending the Mom Congress Welcome Reception where the 51 delegates began to get to know each other in the beautiful Riggs Library.
The night began with a welcome from Robert Manuel, Dean of Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies. Dean Manuel talked about how the idea for Mom Congress began as a conversation with Editor-in-Chief Susan Kane from Parenting Magazine in the very room where we stood two years ago.
Calling it the first conference of its kind, Dean Manuel said that Georgetown likes its firsts…From Bill Clinton as the first Georgetown alum to be president to hosting the first ever Mom Congress! In his welcome, Dean Manuel hoped that others will follow the example of Mom Congress and come together to form partnerships to benefit change for communities…..
