Six year old Little Miss Techie has been very curious about which animals see in color. She knows that dogs do not but has been wondering about her grandparents’ sheep. Being the motivated learner that she is, she tried to find the answer in our nonfiction books about animals here at home. We’ve talked about using an online subscription service called PebbleGo to do some research together.
“Sheep see in color,” she proudly proclaimed at dinner one night.
“How did you find that out?” I asked, knowing of her quest.
“I Googled it.”
My husband and I stopped mid-chew and looked up at each other.
“When did you Google it?” asked my surprised husband.
“At Grandma and Grandpa’s when I was visiting.”
“Oh did you and Grandma look it up together?” I asked. “I’m glad you figured that out.”
“No, I Googled it myself,” replied our 6 year old.
Oh dear.
