Late last night I heard about a local 15 year old girl named Katie Peterson (above) who has been missing since Friday, October 25 and how her mother started a Facebook page to spread the word through social media for everyone to help find her daughter. It’s all that I’ve thought about as I’ve tweeted, retweeted, shared, and pinned in the hopes that someone, anyone has information about her whereabouts. If you do nothing else today, please take a look at the Find Katie Peterson, Olney Maryland Facebook page, like it, and share it in hopes that this family will find their daughter soon. For more information, here’s the local news story about Katie’s disappearance and the post I wrote for Babble Tech which I hope helps spread the word a bit more to help bring Katie home.

Next week marks the one year anniversary of the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy. The Atlantic has an amazing interactive piece called Hurricane Sandy, Before and After, One Year Later where you can see photos of the devastation and then click on them to see the exact same spot a year later.
This week BlogHer announced that this year’s conference will be from July 24-26 in San Jose, CA. Why San Jose? It’s where the conference started 10 years ago. Click over for more info about BlogHer14. Will you be going?
