When we first bought our house, I started planning my dream kitchen. White cabinets, granite countertops, a large island for sitting and serving with bookcases at the end, a large professional range, and countertops for all of my favorite kitchen appliances. I’ve always loved to cook and even though I’ve taken many cooking classes at a nearby culinary school and still dream of opening my own neighborhood café, I’m far from a professional chef.
I’m more of a kitchen snob who invests in quality tools for my kitchen because I use them every single day. I find that having the right tools not only makes cooking more enjoyable but also helps even the most mundane tasks in the kitchen become more efficient.
Since we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving and the holidays, I thought I’d share some of the items that I love and can’t live without. I can’t live without my Bosch Dishwasher that fits perfectly into our kitchen thanks to the streamlined style that goes with any décor. It’s energy and water efficient and I also love the fact that it’s super quiet and I have to check for the red floor light to know it’s running!
Other must have are my kitchen appliance workhorses- a six quart KitchenAid Professional Mixer, Cuisinart, Blendtec Blender, and Breville Immersion Blender. Don’t forget a great set of knives that feel balanced in your hand because comfortable knives make any chopping task so much better, especially when they’re nice and sharp. Protect your investment with a great wood chopping block. Last year I splurged on a Boos Block and it’s another item that I use every day and was well worth my money.
