Perhaps it’s the former Girl Scout in me but I always like to be prepared. The mild spring temperatures will morph into warm summer months and it’s important to be prepared for summer thunderstorms and the myriad of outdoor adventures that keep our kids outside well after dark. This means having plenty of working light sources (flashlights, lanterns, and spotlights) and a stash of all kinds of batteries on hand for camping trips, outdoor play, and especially for when the power goes out thanks to a summer storm.
One of my new favorite tools is Rayovac’s Virtually Indestructible LED Spotlight because it’s a rugged device with a bright light that performs well for everyday adventures as well as more rugged ones. I recently put it to the test throwing it around in the yard to test the rubberized coating that is designed to absorb shock when dropped. I also tested how well it would resist water whether licked by a dog or submerged in water!
It’s easy to see from the video above why this spotlight was one of my recent picks for my list of 7 Must-Have Gadgets for Summer Adventures. It’s a great all-purpose tool that really does it all without the worry of it breaking. Its rugged nature can handle being dropped in the yard thanks to the rubberized coating that absorbs shock when dropped, the bright LED light lights up a campground during a dark night, and the fact that it’s submergible means it will still work whether accidentally rained on or if it needs to be used to search a body of water. The spotlight can work while being one meter underwater for up to 30 minutes and it floats so you don’t have to worry about losing it at the bottom.
The Virtually Indestructible Spotlight is $39.99 and available from the Rayovac website.
