To say I’ve been traveling a lot in the last month, is an understatement and if you’ve been following along via social media, you know that I’ve made my way across the United States and back documenting my adventures and sharing tidbits along the way on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. I’m often asked how I do it and my response is with support from my husband, having two great kids who deal with their parents’ revolving door travel schedule, and devices that keep me powered up even when always on the go.
Over the past month I’ve traveled to Florida for a Toyota press trip, stayed in Washington, D.C. for the AYA Summit with ONE, worked in San Antonio as the Blogalicious Conference Sponsor Liaison, helped my daughter raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation during last weekend’s family trip to New York City for the KidzVuz Holiday Party, and covered the Collegiate Inventors Competition with my laptop, my mobile phone, and a kit of tech accessories. My kit of tech accessories is always with me, always packed in my carry on for easy access to charging cables, power brick for my laptop, and an external power supply.
Even with a power case on my phone to provide extra juice, it’s never quite enough to keep my phone charged from the beginning of the day to dinner or into the evening hours on these busy days. It’s not uncommon for me to go through my phone’s charge in an hour and exhaust my power case’s charge before lunch! Without the ability to slow down and be in one place long enough to recharge, I’m reliant on devices like the APC Mobile Power Pack to keep me going until late at night.
For under $50, the APC Mobile Power Pack provides reliable backup power to efficiently charge my phone when it’s in the red. I like to keep my phone’s charging cable rubber banded to the Mobile Power Pack to ensure they’re together when I need them. This allows me to quickly plug in the USB to the Mobile Power Pack and the other end into my phone and push a button to start charging. I can keep using my phone even while recharging!
I appreciate that there’s an LED display that provides battery charge status to let me know how much of the Mobile Power Pack’s juice I’ve used and it shuts off when my device is fully charged to conserve power for the next time I need it. With the 5000 mAh battery, I find that I can get 2-3 charges from the APC Mobile Power Pack. Perfect for getting me through the rest of the day! And since friends don’t let friends be in the red, I appreciate the dual USBs to share with a friend.
When I’m not traveling for work, I bring my APC Mobile Power Pack with me. It’s lightweight enough for me to tuck in my purse to help my family stay powered up during our around town adventures or when we’re traveling since it can be used to charge a tablet, audio player, handheld gaming console, e-reader, and even my Samsung NXMini camera! I find it most useful to pack in my carry-on bag during family travel since most planes don’t have outlets and charging stations with available outlets in some airports can be few and far between, especially during the busy holiday travel season. The dual USBs ensure that both kids have access to separate but equal power to recharge a device that is running low simultaneously!
Looking back on the last month of work and family travel I’m glad to be home for a bit before the next round of travel starts and appreciate having the APC Mobile Power Pack with me as part of my trusty arsenal of devices and accessories that are travel must-haves for any trip!
