Raise your hand if you’re like me and are always popping into your neighborhood CVS to refill a prescription, grab a gift card, buy supplies for wrapping presents, restock your medicine cabinet with a cold or flu remedy, shop for products to help you recreate the latest makeup trends, or doing a last minute run for the class party items. I’m always at CVS for one thing or another but haven’t been reaping the ExtraCare Rewards I’m eligible for. I have friends who rave about the health and beauty rewards and ExtraCare Bucks they get from shopping at CVS but each time I’m at the register and the card on my key ring doesn’t scan correctly, I sigh, walk away resolving to fix it, but never do.
Thank goodness there’s an app for that.
I recently downloaded the free CVS Pharmacy app that has become a new favorite. Instead of being frustrated by my card not being recognized by the register, I simply have the cashier scan the digital version of my card to take advantage of the most recent ExtraCare Rewards offers that are just for members of the program. Since using the app (available for iOS or Android) I’ve found five other features that make shopping at my local CVS easier and far more efficient.
1. No More Coupons to Clip
I would be the worst Extreme Coupon contestant ever because I often forget to bring coupons to the store with me. Oops. Now when I head to CVS, I never have to worry about clipping coupons ever again. The CVS mobile app sends me personalized deals based on my purchase history that I can send directly to my ExtraCare card to save money.
2. Ease of Managing Family Prescriptions
If you’re like us and use CVS to refill family prescriptions, managing them is easier than ever. Using the app, I can scan medications or automatically refill a prescription, view and transfer prescriptions to a local CVS Pharmacy, set medication reminders, and check for drug interactions.
3. Privacy When Picking Up Prescriptions
I always happen to run into someone we know when at our CVS and since I don’t always want others to know what prescription I’m picking up, I like that the CVS app helps me maintain my family’s privacy. I can pick up prescriptions by simply showing the app to the pharmacist who hands me my bag without any words exchanged for others to overhear.
4. Send Photos Directly from My Phone to Print In-Store
If your photos are like mine and tend to live on your phone or as digital files on your computer, you can now upload favorite photos directly from your phone or Facebook using the CVS Pharmacy app. Choose photos you want, click to send them to the store, and pick up prints, often even on the same day! So easy!
5. Reorder Past Purchases Online
If you have favorite CVS products, you can now restock directly through the CVS Pharmacy app. It’s so convenient to be able to reorder past purchases!
6. Locate a Nearby Store
Instead of relying on other location based apps or Google to help you find the nearest CVS when you’re away from home, simply pull up the CVS Pharmacy app to easily locate the closest CVS Pharmacy store.
7. Rewards Always Available Through the App
Remember how I said I would be the worst at Extreme Couponing? I’ve gotten better with the help of the CVS Pharmacy App that helps me track the amount of money saved and allows me to access my ExtraBucks rewards directly on my phone. Credits from my ExtraCare Pharmacy & Health Rewards and BeautyClub purchases are tracked through the app so I can watch my rewards add up and know when I have an ExtraBucks rewards to spend on my next purchase.
Over the next couple months I’ll be showcasing how the CVS Pharmacy app is not only easy to use, but also convenient as I cross off daily errands with just a single click. If you don’t already have the free app on your phone, download it (iOS or Android) and follow along!
