If you were to ask me what my favorite movie is, I would say it’s Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. I happen to love everything about the 1986 classic with Matthew Broderick who plays truant Ferris who drags his sick best friend, Cameron, out of bed and gets and girlfriend, Sloane, out of school (thanks to a dead grandmother story) for a day of fun in downtown Chicago on a beautiful day. Now my all-time favorite movie is coming to Netflix so I can get my Ferris fix anytime I want!
Gone are the days of popping in the old school VHS and DVD to see my favorite movie. Now I can see the trio romp through Chicago eating lunch at a posh restaurant as Abe Froman, Sausage King of Chicago, appear on TV sitting in the stands of a Cubs game, lip synching Twist and Shout in a parade, and gazing at Sunday in the Park with George at the Art Institute of Chicago all while avoiding Principal Rooney.
If you’re a fan of Ferris like I am, you’re already running through movie lines in your head! How many of these quotes do you remember from the movie? If there are any you’ve forgotten, it’s time to plan for a family movie night this Saturday to screen Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!
September on Netflix may have been all about Disney (you did hear that Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Pixar films will be shown exclusively through Netflix streaming, right?) but October promises Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Dazed and Confused, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and Titanic along with tons of other content that will be made available throughout the month. Here’s a peek at what’s coming to Netflix in October!
I am a Netflix Stream Team Member and while I am not compensated, my family does enjoy a complimentary Netflix subscription and other items for my involvement.
