No one has just one job. When I was a teacher, my main role was to impart young minds with knowledge while also serving as a conflict resolution coach between students who weren’t getting along, nurse who dispensed countless Band-aids, nutritionist who assessed students upon entry to the classroom and sent them to the cafeteria for breakfast if they hadn’t eaten, emotional support for those who had separation anxiety at the start of the year, and so much more. Perhaps my years in the classroom created this desire to do more than one thing since it’s been an ongoing theme in my life ever since.
For nearly ten years (yes, TEN in Janaury!), Tech Savvy Mama has been my home. Through the years this site has become a resource for technology, education, and parenting issues as we raise our kids in an ever-growing digital landscape but it’s also served as the springboard for other writing opportunities, consulting work, and the introduction to causes that are now near and dear to my heart.
But how do you take multiple interests that tap into a multitude of skills and showcase them in a way that gives legitimacy to each thing you love and feel equally passionate about? Hint: It’s not through a traditional resume or updates to your LinkedIN profile. It’s through a personalized ThisIs.ME Hub!
A couple of months Domain.ME reached out to me with an offer to build me a custom Hub to showcase my many passions and highlight the various projects I’m working on and I couldn’t say yes fast enough!
Introducing My Personalized ThisIs.ME Hub: LeticiaBarr.ME
Writing a resume or bio, sitting down to tackle my blog’s About page, and creating media kits aren’t my strong suit but when someone offers to do it for you and they know you pretty well, the results can be amazing.
The Domain.ME team mirrored my recently redone blog to create a professional looking page that provides highlights at a glance. A couple months ago I filled out a questionnaire from Domain.ME. My responses plus our work on a number of campaigns through the years allowed them to create a one of a kind place on the web to learn about me beyond the blog.
To say that I’m thrilled with my new LeticiaBarr.ME Hub is an understatement, especially when I look back at what my site looked like 9 years ago and how it’s evolved into what it is today.
I love that this site is highly personal but serves as a one stop shop to click over to the other writing I do online, get a better understanding of the many causes I champion through my philanthropic efforts, see examples of digital strategy I’ve executed for clients, and my passion for teaching and learning has never gone away and is something I enjoy doing as an educational consultant. It shows that I’ve moved beyond blogging as a hobby long ago and I’m always authentic online!
