The Earring Club by Haiti Mama ($15/month)
While not exactly unplugged fun, I chose to include The Earring Club because it’s a gift that keeps on giving. Gorgeous handmade Haitian earrings are not only are delivered to your student’s mailbox each month but provide people with jobs. Haiti Mama works with the Haitian government to reunite children in orphanages with their families and empower generations through education and employment that breaks the cycle of poverty. Valentine’s Day Gifts for your Significant Other
Give your loved one a gift that encourages them to unplug with you. Here are some ideas that show your love through gifts that promote time together.
Flowers that last from LEGO Botanicals (starting at $29.99)
Not only is a gift of LEGO flowers one that will last forever but it’s a great way to enjoy some unplugged building time together. Choose from plant builds like the Botanicals Orchid ($39.99), Succulent Set ($20.99), or gorgeous bouquets featuring a Bouquet of Roses ($58.95), Tropical Flower Bouquet ($49.99), or mixed Icon Flower Bouquet ($47.99).
Heated Gloves from Snow Deer ($100 on Amazon after $19 off coupon)
Heated Gloves from Snow Deer are a great gift for anyone who has trouble keeping their hands warm on unplugged outdoor adventures. I purchased a pair for my husband a few years ago after they came highly recommended by friends during an incredibly cold weekend of skiing and he’s loved them ever since.
Each glove comes with its own battery that you plug in to recharge overnight. Pop it back in the compartment, zip it up, turn them on, then choose from 3 different heat settings (high, medium, and low). The single touch power button has an indicator light that flashes on for 5 seconds to display battery power through different colors. My husband has used these gloves for a full 6 hours on the slopes. Since they’re very toasty on the high setting, he finds keeping them on medium helps keep his hands warm during long days of skiing while preserving the battery for a full day’s use.
Leather Jacket from Angel Jackets (starting at $179)
Wearing a gorgeous lambskin leather jacket on a date night out is a luxurious treat no one will say no to. Angel Jackets makes gorgeous men’s and women’s leather jackets out of supple leather. Their website features a variety of colors, fits, and styles and has wonderful customer service. I’ve been wanting a fitted leather jacket for a while and chose the Women’s Black Slim Fit Cafe Racer Real Leather Jacket ($179). Comparing my measurements to the size chart, I would wear a small jacket but since I wanted mine to be a little looser to wear a light sweater underneath, I ordered a medium.
When it arrived, the leather was supple and gorgeous right out of the package and the medium fit perfectly everywhere except was too snug in the chest to zip. While it fits well everywhere else, I would have liked to be able to zip it close to provide extra warmth when it’s cold out. When I emailed customer service, they were incredibly responsive, offering apologies and sending a pre-paid label to return it. I decided to keep the jacket because it fits great. Plus, I do really love wearing it open, rather than zipped.
It can feel like a huge risk to order an expensive item online without trying it on first but Angel Jackets provides great products and wonderful customer service. They have a 30 day return policy and provide US customers with a pre-paid return label. I already have my eye on the Women’s Maroon Café Racer Leather Jacket ($189) but maybe this time I’ll order a large!
Carry-On Luggage from TravelPro ($297.49)
If travel is your love language, a new carry-on to makes a great gift, especially if your trip encourages you to spend time with each other, instead of on your phones. Since mentioning the VersaPack®+ Compact Carry-On Spinner in my Best Gifts for Teachers gift guide I published in December, I’ve had a chance to use this bag and truly love how compact and lightweight it is. I appreciate that it allows me to travel efficiently and in style whether I’m traveling for the better part of the week for work or on a long weekend getaway.
Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier ($59.95)
Give your loved one the gift of self care thanks to Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier. This must-have wellness tool helps create a spa-like experience at home and encourages unplugging while maintaining skin hydration, especially during the cold, dry winter months.
