Valentine Gifts for Unplugged Fun

February 3, 2025 By Leticia

How can you show those that you love that you truly love them? By unplugging and spending quality time together away from your screens. This year I’m featuring 14 Valentine gifts for unplugged fun.

Valentine Gifts for Unplugged Fun

There are games for families with kids of all ages to play during family game nights along with cozy PJ sets to wear for your night in. There’s a section with a few things for your college students who could use a chance to unplug and focus on their digital wellness. I haven’t forgotten about significant others! Valentine gifts for unplugged fun with your beloved include things that encourage them to unplug with you.

Hopefully these gifts will help you and your family make a habit of unplugging beyond February 14th.

Valentine Gifts for Family Game Nights

Family PJs from Bellabu Bear (starting at $24)

Start off your family game night in the coziest of pajamas and blankets from Bellabu Bear whose pajamas come in sizes and prints perfect for the whole family. Made from eco-friendly bamboo, I continue to be impressed with how cozy and soft Bellabu’s products are wear after wear, wash after wash. For Valentine’s Day, I absolutely love the Puppy Love Valentine’s Day Dogs and Valentine’s Day Kittens PJs. Parents will appreciate the Friend’s You’re My Lobster PJs. If you want a matching set for the whole family, you can’t go wrong with If You Give a Mouse a Cookie inspired Milk & Cookies PJs. Check out their entire Valentine line here.

Roly Poly Goalie ($19.99)

Roly Poly Goalie game

Roly Poly Goalie is a card game that involves rolling, tossing, and goaling that gets everyone up and laughing in minutes. The game encourages counting skills, active play, problem solving and family bonding. It’s part carnival game, part card game, and all screen free-fun that even grown-ups will enjoy! For 2-6 players and best for ages 4+

Hurry Up Chicken Butt ($19.99)

Hurry Up Chicken Butt game

Hurry Up Chicken Butt is a hot potato game with jumping, laughing and lots of animal noises! (and secretly a little bit of exercise). Shake the chicken to reveal your activity then quickly perform it before passing it to the next player. Just don’t get caught holding the chicken when the timer goes off! For 2-6 players and best for ages 4+

Throw Throw Burrito ($19.99)

Throw Throw Burrito game

Place the pair of throwable burritos on the table and deal out the cards. Earn points by collecting three of a kind. Play burrito cards and force your friends to battle – duck dodge and dive the airborne burritos! Win by accumulating points, avoiding Burrito Bruises, and dueling to determine the ultimate champion! For 2-6 players and best for ages 7+

Exploding Kittens $19.99

Exploding Kittens game

A highly strategic kitty version of Russian Roulette. Players draw cards until someone draws an exploding kitten, at which point they explode and are out of the game. They can defuse the kitten with a laser pointer, catnip sandwich or use powerful action cards to move. You’ll have to try and dodge exploding kittens while betraying friends along the way. The last player left alive wins! Made for 5 players and best for ages 7+. Also Available in a 2 Person Game that’s the perfect travel companion ($9.99) and Party Pack for even more players ($24.99).

Valentine’s Day Gifts for College Students

For Valentine’s Day, show your college student you love them with a gift that encourages their digital wellbeing. We want our kids to make healthy decisions with their devices that support their wellbeing, values, safety, and gives them a chance to unplug and unwind from schoolwork.

Mug with Plate and Spoon ($14.99, regularly $19.99)

Heart Mug with Plate and Spoon

Any college student would love getting Carved Willow’s heart mug with plate and spoon. This extra-large oven and microwave-safe mug holds 18 ounces of their favorite beverage, hot soup, and is also perfect for making lava cakes in. Pair it with a shipment of instant chicken noodle soup and mug cake mix for a sweet and savory DIY Valentine’s Day gift they’ll love.

Double Hammock from Bear Butt ($29.97)

Bear Butt Double Hammock

It might not quite be hammock weather in some parts of the country yet but it will be and there’s no better way to unplug and connect with a friend than in a double hammock. Bear Butt’s Double Hammock measures 10’ long x 6’ wide, is incredibly durable, and easy to set up and take down whether hanging it from an on-campus hammock stand or in the shade of two favorite trees. It packs into a attached stuff sack for easy storage in the smallest dorm rooms.

Why Are You Like This? ($19.99)

Why Are You Like This? game

A card guessing game where you talk, draw, or gesture to get your team to guess as many secret words as possible before the timer runs out. The catch is each card comes with a twist to make your job harder, yet entertaining. This game gets everyone out of their comfort zone and into a silly mood making it perfect for college students to blow off steam with their friends.

The Earring Club by Haiti Mama ($15/month)

The Earring Club by Haiti Mama

While not exactly unplugged fun, I chose to include The Earring Club because it’s a gift that keeps on giving. Gorgeous handmade Haitian earrings are not only are delivered to your student’s mailbox each month but provide people with jobs. Haiti Mama works with the Haitian government to reunite children in orphanages with their families and empower generations through education and employment that breaks the cycle of poverty. Families set their own vocational goals and Haiti Mama sets objectives and provides resources for parents to achieve their goals through work programs such as The Earring Club.

The Earring Club can be purchased once or as a subscription that comes every few months. If you order and give as a Valentine’s gift, your recipient will still receive a letter and a gift to let them know that their gift will be coming shortly. It is something to look forward to even after Valentine’s Day!

Valentine’s Day Gifts for your Significant Other

Give your loved one a gift that encourages them to unplug with you. Here are some ideas that show your love through gifts that promote time together.

Flowers that last from LEGO Botanicals (starting at $29.99)

LEGO Roses

Not only is a gift of LEGO flowers one that will last forever but it’s a great way to enjoy some unplugged building time together. Choose from plant builds like the Botanicals Orchid ($39.99), Succulent Set ($20.99), or gorgeous bouquets featuring a Bouquet of Roses ($58.95), Tropical Flower Bouquet ($49.99), or mixed Icon Flower Bouquet ($47.99).

Heated Gloves from Snow Deer ($100 on Amazon after $19 off coupon)

Snow Deer Heated Gloves

Heated Gloves from Snow Deer are a great gift for anyone who has trouble keeping their hands warm on unplugged outdoor adventures. I purchased a pair for my husband a few years ago after they came highly recommended by friends during an incredibly cold weekend of skiing and he’s loved them ever since.

Each glove comes with its own battery that you plug in to recharge overnight. Pop it back in the compartment, zip it up, turn them on, then choose from 3 different heat settings (high, medium, and low). The single touch power button has an indicator light that flashes on for 5 seconds to display battery power through different colors. My husband has used these gloves for a full 6 hours on the slopes. Since they’re very toasty on the high setting, he finds keeping them on medium helps keep his hands warm during long days of skiing while preserving the battery for a full day’s use.

Leather Jacket from Angel Jackets (starting at $179)

Women’s Black Slim Fit Cafe Racer Real Leather Jacket

Wearing a gorgeous lambskin leather jacket on a date night out is a luxurious treat no one will say no to. Angel Jackets makes gorgeous men’s and women’s leather jackets out of supple leather. Their website features a variety of colors, fits, and styles and has wonderful customer service. I’ve been wanting a fitted leather jacket for a while and chose the Women’s Black Slim Fit Cafe Racer Real Leather Jacket ($179). Comparing my measurements to the size chart, I would wear a small jacket but since I wanted mine to be a little looser to wear a light sweater underneath, I ordered a medium.

When it arrived, the leather was supple and gorgeous right out of the package and the medium fit perfectly everywhere except was too snug in the chest to zip. While it fits well everywhere else, I would have liked to be able to zip it close to provide extra warmth when it’s cold out. When I emailed customer service, they were incredibly responsive, offering apologies and sending a pre-paid label to return it. I decided to keep the jacket because it fits great. Plus, I do really love wearing it open, rather than zipped.

Women’s Maroon Café Racer Leather Jacket

It can feel like a huge risk to order an expensive item online without trying it on first but Angel Jackets provides great products and wonderful customer service. They have a 30 day return policy and provide US customers with a pre-paid return label. I already have my eye on the Women’s Maroon Café Racer Leather Jacket ($189) but maybe this time I’ll order a large!

Carry-On Luggage from TravelPro ($297.49)

Travelpro VersaPack Compact Spinner Suitcase

If travel is your love language, a new carry-on to makes a great gift, especially if your trip encourages you to spend time with each other, instead of on your phones. Since mentioning the VersaPack®+ Compact Carry-On Spinner in my Best Gifts for Teachers gift guide I published in December, I’ve had a chance to use this bag and truly love how compact and lightweight it is. I appreciate that it allows me to travel efficiently and in style whether I’m traveling for the better part of the week for work or on a long weekend getaway.

Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier ($59.95)

Give your loved one the gift of self care thanks to Hey Dewy’s Wireless Facial Humidifier. This must-have wellness tool helps create a spa-like experience at home and encourages unplugging while maintaining skin hydration, especially during the cold, dry winter months. Hey Dewy features an 8 hour mist on a single 4 hour charge, ultrasonic wave technology for quiet and efficient cool mist control, continuous and intermittent settings, and soft evening LED illumination. Small in size yet powerful, Hey Dewy’s compact size makes a perfect travel companion that can easily fit in a carry-on or suitcase.

Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day because we’re so glad Goldie and Murphy are part of our family! 🐶 We gave Goldie her forever home when she was 6 months old. She had been given up by her original family because she was just too much for them. She was an enthusiastic pup who loved to jump straight up in the air when she got excited and she used to hop the fence in the mornings to go visit her best dog friend, Katy, over our back fence. She still jumps from standing when she sees a deer, meets a favorite dog friend, or gets a visit from @lisatasch but now at age 5, she’s more calm and forever faithful. 🦮We met Murphy and his 9 brothers and sisters just days after he was born although we didn’t know he would be the puppy we’d claim as ours. Murphy has that puppy energy but in his quiet moments is a total love bug. He hogs the free space in our king bed (he even has his own pillow!) and loves nothing more than to press his body into me or lie directly on me. 🐾 Goldie and Murphy came to us through @labrescuelrcp and we couldn’t be happier that they’re part of our family! ❤️ #rescuedogday #labrescue #labrador #adoptdontshop
After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hos After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I’m leaving Memphis so very grateful to be able to support St. Jude’s mission of working to end childhood cancer. ❤️ Spending time connecting, brainstorming, and absorbing the wisdom of fellow Hero Ambassadors from around the country was inspiring because the work we do fundraising through our endurance events helps St. Jude do the incredible work they do to ensure families never receive a bill for their child’s treatment, housing, travel, or food and continue important research that will continue to reduce rates of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. I am so looking forward to running in Memphis again this December! 🎉 If you’ve ever thought of running a race that does so much good in the world, join me! I’d love to have you come to Memphis and run with me! Or you can always donate through the fundraising link in my bio. ❤️ #stjude #stjudeheroes #memphis #stjudedmv

When we bought our house 24 years ago, it came wit When we bought our house 24 years ago, it came with many things we didn’t love like rotted porch boards, 1 bathroom, and peeling paint (inside and out!) but it also came with things we did love like old, mature trees, crazy shaped boxwood bushes, and these spectacular peonies! 🌸 Every year when they bloom I’m so glad that these beauties conveyed with the purchase of our house and I’m glad we rebuilt our porch so we can step out our front door to admire them in their glory! 🩷#peonies #peonyseason #garden #blooms #spring
As a teacher and parent, I am well aware of the me As a teacher and parent, I am well aware of the mental health challenges our youth face and am really pleased to share that over the weekend I became certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing! 🎉 I’ve always worked to build relationships with the young people in my life- whether my kids’ friends or students- and this certification has made me more mindful of the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges so I can have important and supportive conversations when symptoms first start to appear. 🗣️A big component of the training also included developing a self-care plan which is critical when supporting others. 💕 I’m so grateful to have taken this certification for free through the University of Maryland whose blended learning format (2 hours of self paced online work + 5 hour instructor led class over Zoom) was fantastic! 💻 The teacher in me really applauds the course design and I’m glad to join the 3 million+ in the U.S. certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid. 🏥 If this is something you’re interested in doing, University of Maryland has free courses on Saturdays or Sundays from 10-4pm between June-October. Swipe ⬅️ for more information, including a QR code with more information and a survey to take as part of the sign up process. And if you have any questions- leave a comment or DM me. I’m happy to help you get certified too! ❤️ #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthfirstaid #youthmentalhealth #mentalhealthawarenessmonth
