Part of being tech savvy is knowing how to find great deals online. Here are some of my favorites:
One site I love is Baby Cheapskate. Raising kids doesn’t have to be expensive. Whether you have an infant, toddler, preschooler, or an older child, you can find great deals on all kinds of child-related products for everyone in your house on this site. From diapers and formulas to shoe and toy sales/clearances at your favorite stores, this site has it all! Want coupons for your favorite stuff? Chances are that someone has posted a link to online coupons to save you money and even get you free stuff. Check it out and let the savings begin!
As a former teacher, I could never ignore any book order form that came through my classroom door. I love Scholastic for books, toys, and even software. Currently The Scholastic Store is having a 50% off sale where you can save big on great books, toys, and software for your kids. Software titles are selling for $9.97 and classics hardback version of books are a steal. Pick up great books such as a hardback version of Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are ($11.77) and Donald Crew’s Freight Train ($5.97). One of Captain Computer’s favorite books is Sleepy Bunny, the soft interactive version of the Pat the Bunny classic. (Don’t tell my pregnant friends but Sleepy Bunny will be part of their gifts since $9.77 is an irresistable price!) Scholastic also has fabulous toys on sale but all sale prices are only good until March 31.
It must be time for some spring cleaning at Discovery Education. They are having their Spring Educator Appreciation Event and you don’t have to be an educator to take advantage of their buy 1, get 2 free offer on all titles. This is a spectacular deal for high quality educational videos available for all subject areas. Whether you are a school library media specialist, teacher, or parent, you are sure to find some great titles for your home, classroom, or school. Search for great Discovery Education titles by subject area, grade level, or publisher. For example, Animal Profiles series videos are $30 each. With lots of wonderful animals to choose from (such as giraffes, polar bears, lions, elephants, mandrills, and gazelles), select one and get the other two free. Yes, 3 for only $30! Of course there are many other titles (and some cost more) but for these high quality educational videos, these are bargain prices! The site doesn’t say when the sale will end but warns that it can end at any time.
And remember, I wasn’t paid to write this nor did I receive any free products for this post. I just love Discovery, Scholastic, and a great deal on fabulous educational stuff for my kids!

Oh, it just gets better and better over here! How did you *know* I was a closet coupon clipper?!
Ohhh, thanks for the Scholastic online store tip! You know, I didn’t even think of ordering from them online – somehow I thought that the monthly school order sheets were the only way. You have opened a whole new world of shopping – yippee!!
