This morning Tech Savvy Daddy set up a new stereo for our kitchen that works with our iPod Nano. Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer were eager and enthusiastic helpers who were quite excited about the new device.
Here’s a conversation we had while she was staring in awe at the new stereo and my red iPod:
Little Miss Techie: Mommy, when am I going to get my own iPod?
Tech Savvy Mama: Later.
LMT: Like tomorrow?
TSM: No, when you are older. (Keep in mind she’s 4.)
LMT: Like when I am 5?
TSM: Older.
LMT: Maybe when I am 15.
Don’t tell Little Miss Techie but we actually own an embarrassing number of iPods. Don’t ask how this happened! So perhaps some day Little Miss Techie will inherit one of her own but not anytime soon!
Oh, and later in the day she told us that her imaginary friends Sarah and Klara were turning 6 tomorrow. And the day after they are going to get their drivers’ licenses.
Hmmm….
And I suppose the day after that they may be eligible for iPods of their own.

That’s hilarious. Yeah, the fact that our DD got her own hand me down (pretty sketchy, crashes and slow) laptop spells certain doom for us in the escalation factor. New stereo system! Have fun with it.
That’s a cute story! I love how kiddies have such a funny understanding of age. I remember 8year olds telling me…”when I was only 6 I….”
