This week’s Websites of the Week are courtesy of DC Metro Area Jessica from A Parent in Silver Spring.
Now that my oldest has reached the ripe old age of 4, he has been clamoring for computer time, just like mom and dad. Thanks to Tech Savvy Mama’s sage advice, we know to set the kitchen timer for 20 minutes and carefully select the age-appropriate CD-ROMs and websites we allow him to view. My 2 year old also likes to sit on her parents’ laps and watch a funny video on YouTube, bang out whatever number she is currently obsessed with in 72 pt. font or play “pwinciss” next to her big brother as he enjoys the following websites:
10. Electric Company retro videos on YouTube (check out Morgan Freeman & Rita Moreno)
9. Animal Jigsaw Puzzles on the Smithsonian National Zoo’s Just for Kids site
8. Curious George games at PBS Kids (and like Little Miss Techie, he also loves Super Why!)
7. Alphabet & Numbers Stations at Preschool Express by Jean Warren
6. Spanish Activity Sheet Printables at Kids Love Spanish
5. Sending free e-cards to family from Evite
4. An Engineer’s Guide to Cats on YouTube
3. Make a Tidepool Come to Life and other interactive features on the Monterey Bay Aquarium Games site
2. Zoei Toh singing on YouTube
1. MadLibs Junior on FunBrain
When not calling out “Two more minutes!”, Jessica can be found at A Parent in Silver Spring.
Thanks for reading Tech Savvy Mama through your feed!

have you all heard of KidZui? It’s a kid-friendly browser that parents can download for free to make sure their child is surfing kid-appropriate sites.
Great stuff !!!!!!!!!!
Check out TOTLOL.com – it’s like a YouTube site just for kid-appropriate videos. Schoolhouse Rock, The Giving Tree, etc – some great stuff!
