Did you know that today, February 9, is Clean Out Your Computer Day?
Anecdotal evidence demonstrates that many valuable hours are often wasted because of slow computers. Psychological research also documents the negative influences of clutter – digital or otherwise – in our life. Despite this research, few users take time to proactively clean out their computers. Today is the perfect day to jump-start your spring cleaning, remove frustrating clutter and recover lost hours in your days.
If you are experiencing problems with your PC, you might want to try System Mechanic from Iolo Technologies. System Mechanic is a program that is designed to fix, speed up and maintain PCs so they run like new forever. The software allows you to tune up your PC so it will run quickly, safely, and error-free. With one click, System Mechanic enables you to detect and repair problems, run essential fixes, and perform automated maintenance.
Iolo Technologies gave me a couple of copies of System Mechanic to try and I shared one with a colleague who mentioned that her home computer was sluggish. She ran different optimizers using System Mechanic and while it took awhile, she felt that the main advantage of System Mechanic over using Windows Systems Applications is that everything she needed was in one place.
If you are feeling like your PC is in need of a tune-up in honor of Clean Out Your Computer Day, enter to win a copy of System Mechanic by letting me know why your computer is in desperate need of an overhaul.
6 lucky Tech Savvy Mama readers will be sent a code to download the full version of System Mechanic for up to 3 PCs which is good for an entire year. Be sure to leave your e-mail in your comment so I can contact you when you win!
Good luck and happy Clean Out Your Computer Day from Tech Savvy Mama, Iolo Technologies, and System Mechanic!

This is such a perfect TSM giveaway! So here’s a funny story about why I need this…this past summer when I had just started on steroids (prescription, don’t worry!) I got on the computer and it was SO SLOW. I kind of flipped out and started swearing at the computer. (Totally out of character!) My husband was like “Whoa roid rage much?” Of course now I’m off them so am not swearing at the thing, BUT my computer is still too slow for my taste!
Oh, my, how I need this. Our computer takes forever to load, often freezes up, and seems to get tired after a while. Oddly, it happens more when I am in msn.com than when I’m using Mozilla. We also may have gotten bitten by a Facebook virus. 🙁 Hope this helps! gabeathome@msn.com
I would love to be one of the lucky ones to win this. I need this because I have to shut down my computer about every 2 hours of it being on. It starts out fine then goes slow then really slow until it freezes up on me. My kids will be on some sites that they go to play kiddie games when after about 20 minutes it just won’t do anything. I am hoping to really win this. Thanks for the chance…

This is such a good idea. We defragment and try to do little fixes but an overhaul type thing like this would be awesome!

Boy, this is something I could really use! Just this week I had a very scary moment when we thought I had lost everything on my computer. We quickly did some trouble shooting and also updated my Norton software, and I didn’t lose anything, but my system is getting up there in years and it’s time to do something. This sounds like it would really help!

Leticia – your giveaways are always so great! I’ve tried to upgrade and fix problems on our OL’ Reliable but i’d love to win this so it could perform automated maintenance for me.
Thx!
Oh, Techie Mom!, How I need this program! lol I try so hard to stay organized on my computer, like I used to be, before I became chronically ill and had to leave my career. I just don’t have the energy and brain power I need to do all the PC maintainance that needs done…that takes allot of time! I have a very limited amount of energy and like to use that to read my email and read a couple blogs..not spend it all maintaining a slow running PC! I luv luv luv reading blogs and keeping up with the world as best as I can, and enjoy yours! Thanks so much for this opportunity to rid my sweet lappy of its own problems with not having enough energy to its job! God Bless You!

After waiting what seemed like 10 minutes just to post this message, I am anxious to get relief from this prehistoric computer! I envy those people I see in coffee shops casually clicking away, just to know the turmoil I await once I log on. I can do the dishes and a load of laundry before my computer makes it to the log on screen. Granted my computer is the same age as my son (3) but I am a SAHM and need to hold on just a little longer (at least until the Stimulus plan get signed) before I feel comfortable even comparison shopping for a new one. Now can you feel my elation when I saw this giveaway? Please save me before I fall into the abyss of error messages and constantly cleaning up my C: drive just to logoff….allens1101@verizon.net
I am not challenged in the technology area, but I am trying… Our family’s main PC is VERY slow. It takes about 14 minutes to burn a CD. There are 4 active PC users in this family, and I am only the 3rd most knowledgeable (5 and 7 yo kids). MY husband if far worse, so there is NO help there. I desperately need this program to help us so that we don’t keep getting frozen out of things and can speed up the process on most things. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
what a great giveaway… I actually have a new laptop.. only 2 months old, but I have gads of problems the last couple weeks and the computer is really slowing down. Can’t seem to find out why as the probs change daily. Having a copy of this program may help me to avoid trading the laptop back in or getting it serviced and losing valuable time and info! Thanks for the write up.
