The “I Love See’s Candies” Giveaway!

March 11, 2009 By Leticia

So maybe this giveaway has very little to do with technology but what do you do when your favorite candy company in the whole wide world gets in touch with you to offer a giveaway to your loyal readers? Turn the deliciousness down? Never!

This winter I named the See’s Candies Custom Mix Creator a Website of the Week and See’s returning the love and offering a Tech Savvy Mama reader a $25 shopping spree on their glorious website.

After all, spring is upon us and with it comes the Easter candy I always woke to find in my basket left by the Easter Bunny. Ah, the sweet memories of Chocolate Butter Eggs, Scotchmallow Eggs, the fruity Jelly Bird Eggs with their non-pariel coatings, and the bunny boxes….

This year Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer are going to wake to find the Large Novelty Eggs in their baskets. And since my Mom is coming to visit for Easter, I know she’ll bestow more chocolately goodness upon her grandchildren in the form of fun novelty eggs but I hope she tucks some of the Springtime Truffles in her carry on just for me. After all, such precious cargo should never be checked on the airplane! (Hint hint. Thanks Mom!)

And if you are observing Passover, don’t worry! Many of my See’s springtime favorites are also Kosher certified too. Mmmm…Krispys and Toffee-ettes!

To enter the See’s Candies gift certificate giveaway, visit their website and tell me how you would spend your $25 and if you plan to horde or share with your kids.

For extra entries, do any or all of the following:

  • Join the Tech Savvy Mama Facebook blog network and leave a comment with your Facebook name
  • Tweet about this giveaway and include a link to your Tweet in your comment and feel free to Tweet this: @techsavvymama is giving away $25 to See’s Candies
  • Learn a little bit more about me by clicking here to read my original See’s post and leave a comment telling me what important See’s related skill I learned from visits with my grandmother.
  • Blog about this giveaway and leave a comment with your permalink

Leave a separate comment for each entry! At least 1 of your comments must contain a valid e-mail!

With all this chocolate talk, I’m off to do the Shred! Thanks for entering and good luck!

Fine print: To be eligible, enter by completing the above tasks and leaving your comments by Wednesday, March 18 at Midnight. One person can enter up to 5 times by completing each of the tasks as outlined above. Winner will be chosen at random by random.org and will need to reply with their mailing address 48 hours to claim their prize. Products will only be shipped within the United States.

Thanks for reading Tech Savvy Mama through your feed!

How fun!! I would definitely use part of it on one of those large novelty eggs. So cute and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one before.

Obviously the critical skill was learning to identify the filling by the outer marking/look of the piece. Definitely a critical skill in life 🙂

Well, first, thanks for the giveaway… Who can turn down chocolate?! Though I would be tempted to hoard, I teach Sunday school on a rotating basis, and the kids informed me I am going to have them for Easter… and of course, they “wouldn’t mind getting some chocolate eggs!!”..of course I had to laugh, but Would love to win this to pass on the blessing to them. So I would choose 4 bags of the dark chocolate foil eggs, and one bag of the milk chocolate foil eggs, from See’s candies.

cute story! the related skill you learned is:”Sunday mornings at my grandmother’s house chatting over countless boxes of chocolate. Those mornings were crucial in imparting an unparalleled knowledge of the identifying marks on each piece of candy and its hidden filling.” You now have hidden advantages when offered your choice in a box of chocolates!

Growing up, my mom always put See’s candy eggs and bunnies in our Easter basket and I have continued the tradition with my own kids today. I would buy a pound of their scrumptious Bordeaux (half milk and half dark) and then I would get some of the assorted decorated eggs to share with my kids! Mmmmmmm! And No! I WOULD NOT SHARE.
It’s all about nobody buying the chubby girl candy and adding to her “problem”…..WHAT?!?!??! Meaning we don’t deserve to be spoiled just as much as the skinny girls?!?!? No way!
So….because of all the times I Didn’t receive a lovely box of candy, I would custom mix the batch to MY WISHES…….

Ah, the *very* important skill you learned with your grandmother is one I picked up a few years ago, too… knowing which See’s flavor is in which delicious piece of candy.

I can spot Butterscotch Squares and Bordeaux a mile away and I’m almost always right with the other flavors, too. 🙂

Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day because we’re so glad Goldie and Murphy are part of our family! 🐶 We gave Goldie her forever home when she was 6 months old. She had been given up by her original family because she was just too much for them. She was an enthusiastic pup who loved to jump straight up in the air when she got excited and she used to hop the fence in the mornings to go visit her best dog friend, Katy, over our back fence. She still jumps from standing when she sees a deer, meets a favorite dog friend, or gets a visit from @lisatasch but now at age 5, she’s more calm and forever faithful. 🦮We met Murphy and his 9 brothers and sisters just days after he was born although we didn’t know he would be the puppy we’d claim as ours. Murphy has that puppy energy but in his quiet moments is a total love bug. He hogs the free space in our king bed (he even has his own pillow!) and loves nothing more than to press his body into me or lie directly on me. 🐾 Goldie and Murphy came to us through @labrescuelrcp and we couldn’t be happier that they’re part of our family! ❤️ #rescuedogday #labrescue #labrador #adoptdontshop
After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hos After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I’m leaving Memphis so very grateful to be able to support St. Jude’s mission of working to end childhood cancer. ❤️ Spending time connecting, brainstorming, and absorbing the wisdom of fellow Hero Ambassadors from around the country was inspiring because the work we do fundraising through our endurance events helps St. Jude do the incredible work they do to ensure families never receive a bill for their child’s treatment, housing, travel, or food and continue important research that will continue to reduce rates of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. I am so looking forward to running in Memphis again this December! 🎉 If you’ve ever thought of running a race that does so much good in the world, join me! I’d love to have you come to Memphis and run with me! Or you can always donate through the fundraising link in my bio. ❤️ #stjude #stjudeheroes #memphis #stjudedmv
