Father’s Day Giveaway #3- Microsoft SideWinder X5 Mouse

June 8, 2009 By Leticia

To truly appreciate Microsoft’s SideWinder X5 Mouse, I put it in the hands of my teenage neighbor and told him to test it out for me. According to his mom, this teen spends way too much time in front of the computer playing games like World of Warcraft but is quite knowledgeable about tech specs. Before opening the box, this teenager was impressed by just scanning the specs on the box, “Over 7000 frames per second?!? No way!”

Just yesterday I was telling another dad who was a gamer about the Sidewinder X5 Mouse and he said, “Microsoft Sidewinder…That’s a great product line!” Clearly there were some high expectations for this gaming mouse.

Fast forward to the feedback and the teenager reported back to me that was quite impressed by the number of frames per second (7080 to be exact), accuracy due to the laser tracking, and speed. While he said it was a little heavier in his hand than his regular mouse, the weight was not a bad thing.

Designed for comfort and engineered for precision, this wired 9-button gaming mouse is features adjustable DPI switching for accuracy or fast movement, customizable buttons so you can map your favorite gaming actions, and a Quick Launch Button for one touch access to Microsoft PC gaming features. True gamers know that the buttons on mice tend to wear out but this one is built to last and has a main button life that is rated for 10,000,000 clicks.

If those features get you excited, then this mouse is the perfect choice for someone like you who is looking for a competitive edge. World of Warcraft will never be the same with this baby!

Microsoft is giving one Tech Savvy Mama PC gamer a Sidewinder X5 Mouse which makes a perfect Father’s Day present for any gaming dad!

Just leave a comment telling me who would love this super cool gaming mouse and why.

For an extra entry, Tweet this: @TechSavvyMama is giving away a Microsoft SideWinder X5 Mouse and tons of goodies for dads!  http://tr.im/nR8L

I’ll randomly choose a winner from the comments on Tuesday, June 16.

my dad would love to have a great mouse like this for his computer. he is one of those guys that is always messing up his computer because he thinks he knows what he is doing, but he doesn’t. if he had this mouse, maybe that would satisfy his techno-longings and he could just leave well enough alone everywhere else!

My dad, the wannabe fighter pilot, would love using that instead of just a regular mouse for all of his aviation/WWII games…

And I’m happy to encourage his hobby because my sister is going off to college next year and we can’t let the empty-nesting parents get too bored, can we? 🙂

My best advice to parents of college students? Whe My best advice to parents of college students? When they say “you should come” - GO! ✈️

Over the last 4 years it’s been so wonderful to be invited for glimpses of Emily’s life on campus. I’ve been welcomed by her amazing friends who have become part of our family, met the professors, faculty & staff she talks so fondly of, and gotten to know fellow parents through trips to Family Weekend all while enjoying time with my best girl. 💕

Today I’m heading home as a proud mom with a full heart for all that I’ve experienced on campus during her college years and am in disbelief I’ll be back for graduation next week. 🥹

I continue to be in awe that we put something in space that existed up there for 5 months. 🥰 Our CubeSat took photos 📸 and tweeted 🐦‍⬛them out as we hoped it would thanks to the many students (and parents!) who have been involved in our meaningful real-world hands-on STEM project that enabled them to learn about technology and space over the past 11 years.

I found some old notes from a 2015 meeting and under Questions, I wrote: “If we are successful, would we do this again?”

And the answer is yes! 🎉 Here’s to SilverSat 2.0 and involving more kids to dream up a new mission for our next Silver Spring CubeSat! 💕

Happy #MedalMonday to everyone who ran a race over Happy #MedalMonday to everyone who ran a race over the weekend and is adding new race bling to their collection! 🎉 I did a thing this weekend too but it didn’t involve another race! 😂Here’s the before, swipe ⬅️ for the after!

Inspired by seeing @allytbrett_runs ’s race medals, I did a little medal reorg that makes my OCD self happy. 🙌🏼Pro tip- Instead of sliding the bar of the medal rack through the ribbon, I looped the ribbon around the bar so all the medals face forward! This small thing made a huge difference and makes me happy every time I walk into my office!💕

My next race is the 25th anniversary @stjude Memphis Marathon Weekend on December 5th. I’m thinking this anniversary year medal will be the start of a new medal rack, just like my 15th anniversary medal started this collection.🫶🏼

If you want to run Memphis with me, race registration is open! Comment Memphis and I’ll DM you the registration link and happy to answer any and all race ❓s!

Race medals are great but charity bling is better! Race medals are great but charity bling is better! 🏅When I first started running for @stjude 10 years ago, I thought I’d be one and done but here I am- 15 races later and having raised almost $50,000! 🎉

The goal has always been to help end childhood cancer and I feel so fortunate to have met the most amazing people along the way. My fellow @stjudedc Hero Ambassadors are a group of dedicated baddies who I adore. 🥰

We cheer for each other on and off the course and as my friend & fellow DC Hero Ambassador @jess_santora says, “My goal was never just to reach the finish line- it was to help more people get there too.” 🏃🏻‍♀️

Here’s to more races, more money raised for St. Jude, and forever friendships! Already excited (and fundraising) for St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend this December. ✨Fundraising link in bio and donations of any amount are appreciated to help me reach my $4,000 goal! 🙏🏼

I am so proud of each and every one of us and especially incredibly grateful that OTFSS members said yes to running today! 🥰

We fundraised, trained, and ran to give families hope that their kids will survive childhood cancer and to support researchers as they work towards a cure for childhood cancer and other life threatening diseases. 💕

As a mom of 2, I know no parent should ever have to hear “your child has cancer” so thank you Team OTFSS for supporting St. Jude’s mission by running the streets of DC! We did it and I’m already looking forward to next year’s RNR DC race so we can do it again!🧡🧡🧡
