Do you take time to yourself to destress and recharge? I know I don’t! While I’m off at BlogHer networking and mingling, I’m also looking forward to relaxing and recharging at the Social Luxe Lounge and Blogalicious’ Lush party among many others.
For those who aren’t joining me at BlogHer this year, 1800Flowers.com has offered a $50 gift card to one Tech Savvy Mama reader. As a busy mom, nothing lifts my spirit more than flowers. I love the sight of a fresh colorful bouquet whose aroma fills the room.
Apparently I’m not alone. A recent Harvard study found that people who made a point of looking at flowers first thing in the morning actually felt cheerier and even more energetic throughout the day. Certain scents and colors can impact a person’s mood and overall well-being.
1800Flowers.com recently sent me the Martha Stewart Sweet Meadow Bouquet, a gorgeous arrangement of lavender Cool Water roses for my birthday to literally make me stop and smell the roses. The roses arrived in a unique glass pedestal vase and were accompanied by white monte casino mini daisy like flowers and seeded eucalyptus. The flowers were arranged and hand delivered by a local florist right to our doorstep. Unlike other online floral ordering services, there was no box to unpack or arranging that needed to be done upon arrival.
I love my roses and have to say that the sweet aroma and bold colors are a joy to look at. According to the Harvard study, roses help boost energy and improve mood. The light purple hue reportedly has the power to soothe, relieve tension, and reduce anxiety while also creating an atmosphere of comfort and tranquility. So far, so good!
I love that 1800Flowers.com makes it so easy to send someone flowers to brighten their day. They have a well designed site where you can shop according to occasion or type of gift (flowers, plants, gift baskets & food). They have some great specials that include long stem roses that start at $19.99 which makes sending flowers affordable. I also like that there is a link for arrangements that can be sent the same day. After all, I know we are busy and sometimes it is easy to forget a loved one’s birthday, anniversary, etc. With the same day arrangements, you can have flowers delivered and make it look like you planned for them to be sent all along. And in case you are worried that the same day option will break the bank, it won’t. I found many beautiful floral arrangements that began at $29.99.
I know I’ve enjoyed my flowers and want to help you de-stress and recharge or at least make gift giving a little easier.

to unwind and recharge i spend time in my healing garden…i set it up this year-it’s a meditation space in my yard with a swing, shade, flowers and all the elements of life. i go there for 15 min a day and it’s like hitting the reset button on my energy.

On the days I’m home with Lucas I usually wait to have a late lunch by myself when he’s down for his nap. Taking time out of my day to linger with lunch over the newspaper really helps me relax.
I’m not going to BlogHer but buying flowers for myself (which I’d totally use that gift certificate for!) would help make up for it 🙂

To de-stress and recharge on a regular basis, i get a load of women magazines and read them after my son goes to bed. It’s like reading pure fluff but it really “takes me away…”
Honestly, reading my blogs is something I do to relax – I feel like I’m accomplishing something this way! Thanks!
I am not going to BlogHer but boy, it sounds like a blast, and so much swag! Have fun!
I love my bubble baths with a trahy magazine or some podcasts on my music player. I try to do this at least once a week.
No BlogHer for me, but I’m looking forward to seeing all the tweets about it.

To unwind, at the end of a hard day, I retreat to the hot tub with a great book! My idea of a fabulous time, is a good book!

Whenever it gets really bad, I make a block of time to let me soak at least an hour in the tub with lots of luxury bath salts and a good book. For me, it’s a lifesaver at times.
No, I am not going to BlogHer. I wish I could.

My email is in my profile. I am sure. I really don’t like posting it, so I guess I get disqualified?
I wonder when this ends…but let’s see, to de-stress. I like to sit on the front porch with my dog and just read. It’s very relaxing, especially if the weather is a bit breezy.
