Did you know that the Etch-a-Sketch was originally introduced in 1960 by the Ohio Art Company?
As of Wednesday, toy enthusiasts have been testing their knowledge by playing Name that Toy! at BackToBasicsToys.com and help donate up to $20,500 worth of toys to children in need through Toys for Tots. For each correct answer, Back To Basics Toys will donate 10 cents towards new, unwrapped toys to Toys for Tots, which collects and distributes toys to disadvantaged children, giving them the chance to experience the joy of the holiday season. While times are tough this holiday, everyone can help put toys in the hands of less fortunate children just by playing a game.
Trivia questions are fun and easy and you can play until you get tired of answering questions or until you reach the $5 maximum donation limit as I did. I like how there was a counter on the side of the screen that told me the total amount I had earned for Toys for Tots.
If you are worried about getting the answer wrong and missing out on 10 cents for Toys for Tots, don’t worry! There wasn’t pressure to get every answer right because the BackToBasics quiz gives you the opportunity to answer the question again all in the name of earning your 10 cents for Toys for Tots!
Questions test your knowledge of Star Trek, Peanuts characters, and classic toys like Lite Brite, Etch-A-Sketh, Lincoln Logs, Erector Sets, and TinkerToys.
Here’s one to get you ready…

Back to Basics toys is wonderful. I always love looking through their catalogs. And you can’t go wrong with Toys for Tots. The first two years Alex and I were married, we went to a toy store both years, bought $100 worth of toys and dropped them directly into the Toys for Tots bins outside. THOSE were fun shopping trips.
i won $1. i guess i don’t know as much about toys as i thought–i got a lot wrong! i’ll have to come back to it when i have a little more time. i think my kids would go nuts over any of those toys but my husband would like them to have tinker toys the best–for the kids of course!
