Congratulations to Rebecca and Molomatic who will each receive a copy of Giggle, Giggle, Quack…and More Stories!
If you have ever read Doreen Cronin’s books, you are familiar with the antics of her farm animal characters and their larger than life personalities from her wonderful stories like Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type. Now everyone’s favorite personified animals come to life in Giggle, Giggle, Quack…and More Stories ($14.95) by Doreen Cronin, a DVD that features Duck, the cows, pigs, and of course, Farmer Brown in tales narrated by celebrities like Randy Travis and Little Miss Sunshine’s Abigail Breslin.
The DVD begins with Giggle, Giggle, Quack, the sequel to Click, Clack, Moo where the mischievous animals pull their old tricks on Farmer Brown’s brother, Bob. As usual, Duck serves as the ringleader for the farm animals and orders pizza with anchovies for the hens and rents “The Sound of Moosic” for the cows. The DVD also follows the animals to the county fair where Duck enters all of the animals into a talent contest in order to win a trampoline in the lovable story of Dooby, Dooby, Moo. In Duck for President, Duck determines that the conditions at the farm are unfavorable and begins his campaign to take over, complete with shaking hands and kissing babies! Two additional best-selling stories, Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Fly, are also featured on the DVD.
This collection of Doreen Cronin stories is a treat to have on one DVD but content includes bonus features like an interview with Harry Bliss, illustratator of Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Fly. Spanish versions of Giggle, Giggle, Quack and Duck for President are also included and enable children to hone their bilingual skills. The two Spanish adaptations that also includes the enhanced read-along where words are highlighted as they are read.
The hilarious antics by Farmer Brown’s zany farm animals will be enjoyed by the whole family but all the stories on the DVD are perfect for ages 3-8 because they support reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and problem solving skills. The DVD also features an enhanced read-along function and new Talk about the Story questions to enhance early literacy skills.

Corduroy and Harry the Dirty Dog are from classics we have always loved but Duck also holds a huge place in our hearts because he is always plotting against Farmer Brown and never fails to make Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer laugh, regardless of how many times we have read the stories!
