If you are clamoring for a new ring tone but want something a little more original than the preset ones on your phone or the latest Lady Gaga hit, visit Locally Toned. Called “a public art/original ringtone creation project,” creator T. Foley creates free unique ringtones and provides them as free downloads as a public service.
Some of my favorites include the nostalgia inducing ones such as Daniel the Striped Tiger’s Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Tone, Erok’s Bicycle Bell Tone, Old School Pinball, and Kennywood Merry Go Round. Animal lovers will enjoy a meow by Atlas, Zanzibar’s Purr, the Coqui frog call, or being alerted to a call by a gaggle of geese. Or maybe you are just wishing for the arrival of cocktail hour. Be alerted to happy hour meetups with the Cocktails Calling Ringtone.
Locally Toned allows you to browse ringtones by most recent, most played, and most downloaded. Just click when you find one your like to preview it before following the simple instructions to get the tone via e-mail, as a MP3, or via text message.
Can’t find the right ringtone on Locally Toned? Create your own by phoning one in or check the Locally Toned calendar for tone making and recording sessions.
