As many of you may know, I was supposed to embark on my World Tour this week by attending several events held at the Cannes Film Festival. While this sounded like a spectacular opportunity to take the Tech Savvy Mama brand global, it has gone au revoir or kaput.
However, I was able to take a fabulous trip last week
While it wasn’t on Swiss Air or Lufthansa as planned and
didn’t involve a passport, I was upgraded to the A group
and was able to choose my own seat on this flight:
Rather than spending time in the South of France, I was still
able to enjoy some great beach time. I got my toes wet….
And found some shells…
I enjoyed my daily breakfast of café au lait and croissants
Even though I wasn’t able to wear my gorgeous
Yummie Tummie Maxi Dress
on the red carpet as planned
I’ll enjoy being incredibly stylish on my couch while watching
I loved coming home to find that the Yahoo! Mother Board
surprised me with a delivery of
Huge thanks T-Mobile for overnighting me an international SIM card to use while in Cannes, Yummie Tummie for outfitting me with a Maxi Dress and Chiffon Tier Top so I could be red carpet ready (they are letting me keep them as a very generous consolation prize despite my offer to return them), and Yahoo! Mother Board for the bouquet of flowers that greeted me at my doorstep when I got home.
While I could be incredibly disappointed and mad about the fact that this trip came about at the last minute and I made myself crazy making all the necessary arrangements (last minute plane ticket for my mom to come from CA to serve as grandma-in-charge), I’m not. Indeed it was an amazing opportunity but I have been very fortunate to have had some incredible opportunities over the last two years.
When I first started blogging, I dreamt of working with companies like LeapFrog, PBS, Yahoo! , T-Mobile, AT&T, Microsoft, and HP to review the latest and greatest gadgets. Now, not only do I get to review some pretty cool stuff, but I’ve developed relationships that I never thought I would have and work for companies that seemed so out of reach when I first started. And that’s pretty cool for a techie loving teacher!
So yes, I could be disappointed and say mean things about how terrible the company/PR firm/life-is-because-I-don’t-get-to-go-wah! but I’m pretty grateful that my little hobby has become so much more, for the many companies and PR people that I get to work with on a regular basis, and for all the other cool things I get to do.
Merci to Yummie Tummie, Clever Girls Collective, and T-Mobile for coming to my rescue at the very last minute even though I had to say au revoir to Cannes!
I was not asked to post about Yummie Tummie or T-Mobile in exchange for the items that they provided for my trip. I am incredibly grateful that I get to work with Yummie Tummie as a brand ambassador, am part of the Clever Girls Collective Clever 1000, and write freelance articles for T-Mobile’s 100% You Magazine where I get to try out their latest phones.
Thanks for reading Tech Savvy Mama through your feed!

Why didn’t you get to go?
I’m so sorry you were unable to go but I’m glad you made the most of it. It’s a good lesson for all of us to always find the bright side.
I love your upbeat and positive attitude in the face of what must be a terrible disappointment. Definitely a glass-half-full outlook! Hopefully something equally as fabulous will come your way soon.
Definitely a disappointment, but glad you had a great weekend anyway!!
Great attitude! We had a great Cinco de Mayo together!

but you’re so positive xoxoxoxo
🙂
Sorry you didn’t get to go, but it does look like you got a fun little getaway and put grandma’s visit to good use. I love that you are so positive about this.
I’m late replying, but good post! Hopefully we will be called on by them again. :0) Maybe next year!
