The kids and I are getting ready to embark on a cross country flight to visit my parents in California. Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer are pretty savvy travelers and have racked up a fair amount of miles on their frequent flier cards in their short lifetimes but this trip will be a little different since it is our first solo flight.
Since it is just the 3 of us, I want to be sure I have plenty of entertainment for the entire trip. Each child gets their own backpack filled with goodies. Just take a look at the handhelds we will be packing! My carry on will contain our fully charged PSP that I’ve loaded with new mini games (thanks for your suggestions!) and more comics for the kids. When we are on the plane, my standards for limiting screen time go out the window since I switch into survival mode until we have arrived safely at our destination.
What are some essentials that you take on the road or in the air when you travel? Leave a comment and enter to win the $50 Sony PlayStation Network Gift Card that I’ll give away at the conclusion of the Sony PSP Family Fun Campaign!
I was invited to participate in the PSP Summer Family Fun blogger program by Sony Corporate Entertainment America and share my experiences using the PSP. I received these items to document my experiences and was not compensated for my participation however, I do have an opportunity to win a BlogHer conference sponsorship. All opinions are my own.

I always take my Kindle or a couple of books or magazines when I travel. If I’m driving I load some audible books on my MP3 player–really helps the miles go faster.
Hope you have a wonderful trip and a good visit with your family!
I always make sure I have a book (now my Sony Reader!), iPod, and water! If we have our grandson I’ll add the DVD player with headphones and make sure he has his Nintendo DS! Hubby has a PSP now so I’m sure that’ll be on the next trip!
