This week’s Fill the Backpack post is about our sponsor, Ziploc, who is celebrating Magnificent Moments of Mom that is a nod to the resourcefulness of mothers everywhere.
My earth friendly practices take a back seat when it comes to my weakness for Ziploc bags. I love that Ziploc bags always keep me organized whether at home, work, or on the go and find myself filling them with absolutely anything and everything.
Ziploc® Brand sandwich bags often appear in the kids’ lunchboxes when I’m not using our reusable LunchSkins but I also love to use them for traveling. During our recent visit to St. Croix, Ziploc® Brand Freezer Slider Bags and Ziploc® Brand Storage Bags with the Smart Zip™ Seal held everything from sunscreen, shells, wet swimsuits, snacks for the long plane ride, and cables for my various devices. I was glad to find the extra batteries for the kids’ LeapFrog Explorers in a snack size Ziploc at the bottom of my bag when we ran out of juice part way through our return flight!
With Ziploc, my belongings stay where they are supposed to whether I’m traveling or packing the kids lunch as they head back to school. The sturdy plastic and seal keeps things right where they belong. They prevent sunscreen explosions and chip bits from infiltrating every corner of a child’s backpack!
While we were in St. Croix, I also learned that Ziploc is making Eco-Bags. Eco-Bags use less plastic but deliver the same quality that I’ve grown accustomed to in my frequent use. Eco-Bags are just as strong but use less plastic, making them better for the environment!

My Magnificent Mom Moment was when my daughter came home from school and stated that she shared her sandwich with her friend who’s mom packed her sandwich in plastic wax paper. She told my daughter that her sandwich was fresh and good….well it was sealed in a zip lock bag. Keeping it fresh! lol

My magnificent mom moment is when I comb and braid my three daughter’s hair every week. It is a lot of WORK, but I feel good at outcome.
They have a ton of thick natural hair that I maintain myself, to keep it healthy. I get a lot of compliments and amazements on theIr hair, and that makes me feel magnificent! 😉

My Magnificent Mom (Grandma) moment is using Ziploc bags to help my grandson organize all his little treasures inside his treasure box…arrowheads, special rocks, sticks, and more 🙂 He uses a permanent marker to write where and when he found them on the outside of the bag.

My magnificent Mom Moment was when I was talking to my daughter (then in 1st grade) about her lunch. She mentioned that she friend had store-bought cookies as a treat. We don’t tend to buy cookies at the store so that was a novelty for my daughter, but I do make cookies at home. I asked my daughter which kind she liked better, and she said, “Of course, mama, I like the ones you bake. They have love in them!”

My magnificent mom moment: Doing art projects with my kids. We love to use ziploc bags for all sorts of fun. Like, crushing oreos for homemade ice cream in a bag and making colored noodles for noodle art and necklaces.

My Magnificent Mom Moment was taking along Zip Lock bags on our trip to the beach. When my daughter wanted to save the shells she collected, I gave her a gallon size bag to keep them in. I was so smart!

My Magnificent Mom Moment occurred when my daughter was at school. She got a bloody nose, which got all over her clothes. Luckily, I keep an extra set in her book bag . . . in a Ziploc bag so it doesn’t get wet or dirty. 🙂
