I first spied BuckyBalls in this super cute SoHo store during a trip to New York City and was immediately captivated by the pile of small magnetic balls that can be put together in any number of ways. They were highly addictive and I walked away regretting that I hadn’t bought them. Now a set of BuckyBalls sits on my desk (right next to my Perplexus) and is great for endless fiddling to combat writer’s block or for sculpting during conference calls.
The magnets are highly powerful with positive and negative poles to attract and repel. I can line them up to make a long magnetic snake, construct hollow geometric shapes, and whatever else I can dream of. I love how the sky’s the limit with this open ended toy!
BuckyBalls are $29.95 but the gold, black, or silver editions are available for $5 more. Each set is packaged with a square carrying case.
- Beware the magnet’s power on your computer’s hard drive. Just like any magnet, BuckyBalls have the power to erase your drive and data when placed on your computer. Just to be safe, keep them a safe distance from your hard drive and laptop!
- They are not toys for kids since they could be easily ingested. Swallowing magnets run the risk of sticking together and binding intestines together causing serious injury or death.

These look like a lot of fun! I’d give them to my hubby who is an architect. He could make tiny buildings out of these while he’s on conference calls!
Thanks!

I want BuckyBalls. I WANT BuckyBalls. I really, really want BuckyBalls, and then I want to hide them from Jack, who doesn’t know they exist, but who probably also wants BuckyBalls.
I don’t know what I would make, but I would use it as a fidget to run through my hands. I bet that would be awesome. Or I’d make a dog. Oooh! Oooh! Or a mouse! Or a pyramid! Or…
Did I mention that I want BuckyBalls?
