One of the best things about being part of Bump Month is taking a look at the latest and greatest baby items available for moms and newborns. When Little Miss Techie was born seven years ago, the techie items we wanted were a video camera and a baby monitor. Mind you, not a video monitor but a regular old baby monitor with 2 (!) receivers. My how things have changed!
Since we had a total liquidation of all things baby in our home after Captain Computer was born, another baby would mean that we’d have the joy or shopping for everything all over again. Not that we’re having another baby (sorry Mom and Dad!), but it’s sure fun to look!
Here are a few items from Bump Month sponsors that caught my eye as essentials to have immediately after delivery that you can win by entering my Bump Basket giveaway!

Hot Mama Gown |
Hot Mama Gown ($59-89)— Everyone knows that there are points in the pregnancy when you feel less than attractive. My least attractive moment must have been post-delivery when I was not really rockin’ the hospital gown look after Little Miss Techie was born. I would have loved a bright, vibrant, and organic cotton Hot Mama Gown to wear. Love the Emma style which is a steal at $59-69!

Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat |
Britax Car Seats— After carrying our children safe in the womb for 9 months, I wanted to put them in the safest car seats that existed. My grandmother gifted us with a Britax Marathon Classic Convertible ($199.99) that we were able to use for both of our children. We used it both as a rear facing seat after they outgrew their carriers and then turned it around so they could be front facing as they grew older. Safe and durable, Britax would still be my car seat of choice if we were to have baby #3.

Baby Hug Blanket from Silly Monkey Baby |
Baby Hug Blanket ($64) from Silly Monkey Baby— When Captain Computer was born, he was Little Miss Techie’s baby. She adored him! She was the attentive older sister who always wanted to help give him a bottle, change him, and was always tucking him in when he became unswaddled. (Never mind the fact that there was a heat wave shortly after he was born.) I know an organic Baby Hug Blanket would have been perfect for her to use when holding her beloved baby brother.

BabyCenter Baby: The All-Important First Year |
BabyCenter Baby: The All-Important First Year ($19.95) and Workman Publishing What to Expect the Second Year ($15.95)— After making it through pregnancy, I felt that I needed to read all about what was to come. I flew through books as a nursing mom and had resources like these on my night stand. As a nervous first time mother, having them there just in case made me feel just a tad more confident.

Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream |
Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream ($89.95)— I was blessed not to have stretch marks after the birth of petite Little Miss Techie but the ones I didn’t get then came when Captain Computer was born. I wonder if it isn’t too late for me to use Apothederm on existing stretch marks!

Silky Liquid Powder from MD Moms |
Silky Liquid Powder ($22) from MD Moms— Being born in the summer meant that poor Captain Computer erupted in heat rash constantly. His skin was red and itchy. We needed Silky Liquid Powder to restore his baby soft skin to its original glory with a magical formula containing marine silk, shea butter, licorice extract, aloe and cornstarch.
What were your post-delivery essentials? If you are pregnant now, what things are in your hospital bag?
