Savvy shoppers know it’s smart to compare prices before they buy a big ticket item like a car, washer or dryer, or electronics but trying to save money can be time consuming. And how can you trust that you’re getting the best deal and model for your money?
ConsumerCrew.com is a new site that helps consumers find the best products for the lowest price. It’s a one-stop resource for product advice that you can trust and provides a personal experience based on your needs. Create an account, tell ConsumerCrew.com what you’re looking for and they’ll do the time consuming analysis and comparison shopping for you and then share a recommendation that matches your needs.
For example, just the other night I was recently talking tablets vs. Kindle vs. NOOKColor vs. iPad with Thien-Kim over Skype. As the editor of the online book club, From Left to Write, she was wondering what might be the best choice for all of the book reading she does to screen selections for members.
Thien-Kim could create a ConsumerCrew account and submit a product check by typing in a question like, “Should I get an iPad 2? I want something to read books on and $500 seems a little steep for an ebook reader. Why get an iPad over the Kindle?”
ConsumerCrew analyzes her Product Check and within 1 business day, determines what device would best meet her needs (aka #1 Crew Pick). The site takes care of aggregating feedback from professionals, consumers, as well as ConsumerCrew staff to provide 100% objective Product Checks. ConsumerCrew also lists the online and local store with the best price of #1 Crew Pick so you don’t have to waste your time locating the best deal online or driving from store to store!
ConsumerCrew is a subscription-based service that offers unlimited product checks for monthly ($4.99), 3 month ($11.99), or annual fee ($29.95) but also makes their service available for a 10 day free trial. The membership fee allows the site to operate free of advertisements or retailer revenue.
GIVEAWAY: ConsumerCrew is offering 1 Tech Savvy Mama reader the opportunity to win a $50 gift card to Best Buy or Target.
TO ENTER: What upcoming purchase would you like ConsumerCrew to investigate for you? Share an example of a Product Check you’d like ConsumerCrew to investigate for you by leaving a comment (including email address or Twitter handle) as your entry anytime before May 24.
For extra entries, complete the above and any of the following:
- Sign up for a trial of ConsumerCrew and submit your product check. Leave a comment to let me know you’ve done so.

Oh, and if you want additional chances, ConsumerCrew is holding a contest on Facebook on May 13 for anyone who currently likes the site to be entered to win 1 of 2 $50 gift cards to Target or Best Buy.
ConsumerCrew compensated me for my time in reviewing their site, writing this post, and hosting a giveaway. All opinions are my own. Winner must provide a US mailing address.

I am currently reviewing digital cameras to take pictures for my food blog….there are SO many details and swimming through all the information can be overwhelming. Research is important for any item that costs the consumer a lot of money.
So, which digital camera is a best buy for low light food photography that won’t break the budget? ($700 or under)

I would love for them to research camcorders (flip vs. sony bloggie)

My coffee machines always seem to die out after less than a year of daily use. Would a Mr. Coffee or a Bunn coffee maker be a better value and last longer for my family?

I would love for Consumer Crew to compare feature’s on Digital Camera’s. I recently purchased a Kodak Share and it was awful. I’m looking for a digital camera that takes instant click pic’s and not delayed click pic’s, so like 2 or 3 sec’s after you have snapped a photo, then it takes the photo. I would like an instant picture if you can understand what I’m trying to say.
