Time to Play Magazine’s hot spring and summer toys for 2011

When I attended Time to Play Magazine’s spring and summer showcase in New York City a couple of weeks ago, many of the hot toys centered around summer blockbuster movies, including Pirates of the Caribbean. 

Jack Sparrow is coming back to the theater May 20 for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and according to Time to Play, one of the hot toys is Lego Pirates of the Caribbean: Queen Anne’s Revenge ($119.99)

Chris and Jim from Time to Play love this buildable ship playset because of the level of detail which allows kids to create their own imaginary world based on the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.  Take care not to drop it though since the set contains 1,097 pieces.  It took Chris and Jim over 8 hours to build! 

I love Queen Anne’s Revenge because Legos are classic toys that allow for lots of imaginative play that builds story telling skills as kids retell favorite scenes from the movie or make up ones of their own.

    I love Captain Jack. He’s cool, and Mr. Depp wears black eyeliner so well. I also love the Pearl, it’s a great character too.
