With the holidays on their way, savvy consumers are already on the hunt for the best deals on the latest technology. But even with the best deals, the latest and greatest technology can be pricey. The cost of new tech keeps some limping along with old tech, a decision that is so wrong this holiday season especially since “The Shack’s” Trade and Save program helps defray the cost of shiny new gadgets.
Trade and Save allows gadget lovers to trade in hundreds of qualifying items (phones, MP3 players, cameras, game consoles, computers, etc.) online or in-store and receive credit to a new product purchase. Thanks to the Trade and Save Program, it becomes so right to have the latest technology and so wrong to hang on to outdated items.
This holiday season give someone you love a tech makeover by helping them realize that the outdated technology they’ve been relying on is so wrong and trading and saving is so right.
Here is a list of 5 items you might want to help loved ones trade in for an upgrade this holiday season:
Original Kindle— Fans of the original black and white Kindle are salivating over the new Kindle Fire. With color touchscreen, faster processor, free cloud storage, ability to read PDF, Word docs, and email, this tablet is a must-have so it’s time to bid adieu to the original.
A camcorder— When our daughter was born, we wanted a camcorder to capture her every precious moment. Fast forward 8 years and our once coveted camcorder sits in a plastic box collecting dust. Rather than have that outdated piece of technology lying around, I can also trade in my Flip to buy a better compact video recorder that will shoot in HD, have better zoom, and a better microphone.
Cell phone— The technology in cell phones is constantly improving. Better cameras, easier to use interfaces, improved voice recognition software, etc. as they become even smarter phones. If a loved one is hanging on to their flip phone, that’s just wrong! Do them a favor and bring them into this century with an upgrade to an iPhone4s or the latest Android model which is so right. Just provide a little hands on help when they unbox it to help them acclimate to their smart phone.
Laptop— What’s wrong is having to depend on a laptop that’s slow to startup, slow to surf, isn’t the able to run multiple programs at once, and threatens the user with a blue screen of death on occasion. Chances are the person using the laptop may not know how dismal their situation is because they’ve gotten so used to the snail-like speed of their machine but imagine not only how right, but how life-changing a new model would be!
HD TV— When HD TVs first came out, they were a pricey splurge but anyone who bought one in the early days is probably ready to upgrade their screen size. Instead of crowding around to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and bowl games on a tiny screen, share the Trade and Save program to help a loved one realize that they can put the price of their current television towards a new one and pat yourself on the back for giving them the gift of a better television watching experience.
