While Valentine’s Day may be a day dedicated to love, it’s important to stay connected and keep the romance alive all year long. However, busy parents know that in the midst of working, traveling, and parenting, it’s easier said than done and sometimes even sneaking in a conversation can be tricky.
One thing that our family does to stay connected it to sit down together for family meals. It might not be a date night with dim candlelight at a white linen tablecloth establishment but making time to communicate helps keep the romance alive. Results from informal poll among friends taken while I was at TWIN Camp indicate that conversation that keeps us connected is sexy.
In order to keep the conversation alive in your house, start with a family dinner of pizza courtesy of Dr. Oetker.
Who is Dr. Oetker? Don’t worry. He’s not Dr. Ruth. Dr. August Oetker was a pharmacist who developed baking powder called Backin in Germany in 1891. In order to create brand awareness of Backin, Dr. Oetker published recipes that were printed in newspaper ads and on packages.
What started out as recipes is now a 4th generation family run buxiness with a product line that includes baking products, cake mixes, dessert mixes, organic products, and frozen pizzas. Dr. Oetker Pizza Ristorante isn’t your usual frozen pizza. We loved the thin and crispy crust and tasty toppings without the grease and addition of strange unnatural additives found in many other frozen food lines.
Dr. Oetker Ristorante is currently available at grocery stores in several states, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., Rhode Island, Baltimore, and New Hampshire. For a list of the varieties available at your local grocery store, visit this chart.

One night every few weeks my mom takes the kids overnight for a fun slumber party. My husband and I usually have frozen pizza or order take out and order a new movie and eat picnic style on the floor with a nice glass of wine. The whole night and next morning we have to ourselves. Very romantic.

We keep romance alive…even with kids! Part of keeping romance alive is doing things together. So we BOTH attend our kids’ events (such as my daughter’s swim meets), so we can cheer them on TOGETHER!
I’d love to try their Speciale pizza!
