Sunday is Veteran’s Day. It’s a day to honor the brave men and women that serve in order to uphold our country’s beliefs so our flag can fly high and our freedom remains. It’s a day to pause and say thank you whether you say it in person or using technology thanks to great companies like AT&T and Shutterfly who have provided some free tools to send thanks all over the world.
In honor of Veteran’s Day, Shutterfly invites you to create a free card as part of their Thank the Troops campaign. Their goal is to send a thank you card to every American hero and they need our help.
How to get involved— Select one of four different card designs, add a personal message, and send. Shutterfly will print and ship your card to the troops at no cost to you. This is a great quick endeavor that the whole family can get involved in that will really make a member of our armed services feel proud. And you can send AS MANY AS YOU LIKE. FOR FREE!!!
AT&T Video-a-Thon
For those in Washington, D.C., AT&T invites you to a Video-a-Thon at their Farragut North store where they’ll be recording videos to thank veterans for their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. AT&T wants veterans and active duty military personnel all over the world to wake up on November 12 to a message of thanks from a loved one or someone in their community. AT&T will be uploading the videos to a dedicated YouTube site.
How to get involved— Visit the AT&T store at Farragut North between 10-2 pm on Friday, November 9 (that’s today!) and take a minute or two to record a message of thanks. The store is located at 1050 Connecticut Ave., Washington, DC at L Street NW, near the Farragut North Metro Stop.
While you’re stopping by, bring a used cell phone. AT&T is also hosting a phone drive for Cell Phones for Soldiers, a non-profit dedicated to providing deployed and returning troops with cost-free methods to communicate while serving in the military. Place your used cell pones in special drop off bins when you create your video in-store
For those who can’t make it Downtown and would still like to create a video, you are welcome to email them to loveavet@att.com.
I received a Shutterfly gift card for sharing the Thank the Troops campaign but I would have done so even without compensation due to the importance of Veteran’s Day.
