Gone are the days where pricey photo editing software is required to transform a mediocre photo into something fabulous. PicMonkey is one of my favorite sites for online photo editing and creating photo collages. This free and easy site allows users to make basic edits like crop, rotate, change the exposure, sharpen, and resize images and then do touch ups, add effects, text, overlay icons, change the texture, add a frame, or give it a theme.
PicMonkey has a variety of themes including Winterland that is perfect for holiday photos. The Winterland theme includes wintery effects like snowfall, chill, and frost, overlays that include snowflakes, birds, and wreaths, and winter-themed frames featuring snowflakes and evergreens. There are also special fonts and build-your-own snowman elements.
In just a matter of minutes it’s easy to take an original photo and transform it to evoke the feeling of the season. Last week while at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, I snapped a photo of Expedition Everest, one of my family’s favorite roller coasters on Disney property. Here’s my original photo.
Taken on a gorgeous sunny December day, I was able to transform this photo into a holiday themed image by using borders, the snow and chill effects, and adding snow as an embellishment. I added a nice sentiment and salutation and was done. Take a look!
Expedition Everest was transformed from the iconic mountain that is part of the ride’s story into a holiday greeting!
Give PicMonkey a try! It’s super easy and one of my go-to sites when I’m editing photos, creating collages, or wanting to make a themed image.
I was compensated for sharing my experience using PicMonkey as part of a campaign but I’m a regular PicMonkey user and all opinions are based on personal experience.
Why have I not heard of PicMonkey before? It sounds fabulous…downloading it immediately!!!
Hi Aimee! You don’t have to download it! PicMonkey is a web site that you visit and can upload pictures to then export the finished products back to your computer. It’s super simple and I love it!
