The holidays can be stressful but I’ve found that one of my best ways to cope is to be organized. I plan ahead by looking at my month ahead, make endless lists for the satisfaction of crossing things off as I finish them, and using tools like Springpad to keep track of everything from wish lists, crafts, home décor items, and menu planning.
These Springpad is Santa’s secret weapon! I’ve created holiday wish lists for Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer and constantly adding to them as I hear them talking about hot toys as they flip through the endless stream of holiday catalogs that arrive in our mailbox. I’ll sit at the kitchen table and go to Springpad from my tablet or iPhone and stealthily add items by copying and pasting URLs into each child’s notebook. I can also add items from my home computer after they’ve gone to bed. , I’ve added my husband as a contributor to the kids’ Springpad wish list so he can add items to it from his computer or Android phone too.
Gift list collaboration is helpful to friends and family who are always asking about what to get our kids as gifts. I can send them the link to my Springpad notebook to help eliminate the guesswork. Not only is it helpful to our loved ones but I know it’s going to save me time after Christmas when I don’t have to make any returns! I’m just sure to delete items as people tell me they’ve been purchased to ensure there aren’t any duplicates!
I also use Springpad for inspired gift ideas. I can click on Explore to view notebooks selected for the Spotlight and view New Springs, themed notebooks created by others in the Springpad community.
One site that I became acquainted to through Springpad is Wayfair.com, a site for all things home. I’m loving the selection of home décor items, kitchen gadgets, tableware, gourmet items, furniture, and more are all available through Wayfair.com that inspired my Holiday Home Wishlist notebook. There really isn’t anything I need but if someone insisted on getting me a gift, I pulled together just a few of my faves from Wayfair.com. Another selfish reason for creating a new Springpad notebook was for the opportunity to win one of three $500 Wayfair.com shopping sprees!
