“What about a Star Wars takeover?” we asked when visiting the Club Penguin igloo in Kelowna, Canada this spring for the Club Penguin Summit. Something about the way Chris Heatherly, Vice President of Production and Marketing for Disney Interactive Worlds (aka Spike Hike in the Penguin world), made me think that it was coming soon and from the looks of things, it looks like Club Penguin is getting ready for the most epic takeover yet that begins soon!
Having gotten an inside look at what goes on at Club Penguin for the upcoming takeovers and how spaces are transformed for popular parties like the recent Marvel Super Hero and Monsters University takeovers, Star Wars fans won’t be disappointed!
The takeover will allow members to become Jedi Masters, save the galaxy, and access exclusive costumes for their penguins, including a Boba Fett costume for your penguin through play on an iPad. Lots of sneak peeks have been available through the Club Penguin blog where you can see the Stormtroopers hard at work as they work with Club Penguin to write, draw droids, and take coffee breaks in the CP kitchen. No photos of them lounging in Puffle chairs yet though!
As Club Penguin playing Star Wars fans, my kids couldn’t be more excited for what has been called “the most epic takeover yet” by Disney.
