As much as we look forward to vacations, sometimes they don’t turn out like we hope and leave us wishing we could turn back time and do them over again. I’ve had my fair share of vacation misadventures like the spring break getaway to Florida that was ruined by rain, a surprise cold snap during a fall trip to New Orleans that had me running to the mall because I had brought all the wrong clothes, and the long weekend getaway cut short by an urgent call from my husband’s boss who needed him to come home early and hop on the plane. Needless to say the aforementioned scenarios weren’t what I pictured when embarking on my vacations!
If you’ve ever had a vacation that wasn’t as enjoyable or relaxing as hoped, Choice Hotels feels your pain and hopes you’ll enter their #VacayGoneCrayCray contest. The contest is all about submitting your worst vacation experiences for the chance for your tale to be immortalized by YouTube sensations Rhett & Link through their hugely successful Good Mythical Morning show, and to be entered to win $10,000 from Choice Hotels to redo your trip!
To win an incredible vacation do-over, simply submit your story of a vacation gone wrong in 250 words or less. You can enhance your tale by submitting the best photos documenting your misadventures to upload to the contest site with your story. The person who submits the craziest vacation story about a trip gone wrong by 11:59 pm EST August 27th will be awarded $10,000 from Choice Hotels for a vacation do-over. Take a look at the crazy vacation stories that have been submitted to the VacayGoneCrayCray.com site so far and submit yours here.
Once you submit your story, it could also be selected by Rhett & Link to be made into a video and featured on their Good Mythical Morning show. One story will be chosen for a video transformation each week until the contest ends.
What’s your story?
Every family has a story of the vacation that wasn’t quite right. I could share our summer vacation to the Northern California coast where we rented a beautiful cabin in the redwoods just up the road from empty beaches. It sounds idyllic, right? It would have been if I hadn’t spent most of my time in bed, admiring the trees from the skylight in the bedroom, flat on my back. That vacation ended with my husband dropping the kids off at my parents’ house and taking me to the emergency room for some pain meds and muscle relaxants!
Whether or not your vacation involves a visit to the ER, share your tale of a vacation gone horribly wrong through the #VacayGoneCrayCray contest. Who knows…Choice Hotels may just award you the opportunity to turn your crazy story into some fun memories! Good luck!
