3 Perfect Gifts for Your Littlest Valentines
There are many ways to show your kids that you love them. My very short list of kid-friendly gifts are ones that they can enjoy throughout the year and might just be welcome to add some novelty into our home to get you through the rest of winter.
Naptime with Theo and Beau ($11.14 from Amazon)— Chances are you’ve seen Jessica Shyba’s (aka @MommasGoneCity) adorable naptime photos of her son, Beau, and adopted puppy, Theo, on Instagram, floating by in your Facebook feed, or on the news. The just-released Naptime with Theo and Beau is full of of sweet nap photos and easy to read text for your youngest readers but still such a delight for older readers too! My 11 and 8 year old can’t stop marveling at the cute and chances are your kids won’t be able to stop turning the pages either. Plus order your book before February 28 and receive a for your copy! Just fill out this form and upload a copy of your receipt! It’s super easy to get a special keepsake to make your copy even more special!
Architect Set ($59.99) by Brackitz— I can never resist a great open-ended building toy that provides kids with hands-on learning and one of our new favorites is Brackitz. 4-inch wooden planks, and 90° and 120° angle connectors can be pieced together to form a wide variety of models and architectural structures, providing kids with high-level cognitive thinking, reasoning and problem solving that kids will continue to benefit from long after childhood.
Cooper and Kid quarterly subscription ($65/quarter)— With so many subscription box companies out there, the choices are a bit overwhelming especially when you’re looking for something that will truly enhance your quality time with your kids but Cooper and Kid elevates the idea of the subscription box to a whole different level. This quarterly box is filled with themed projects designed for dads and kids to do together. There’s a huge cool factor but also an incredible learning factor through activities that promote the power of play. We recently received the music box that came packaged in a cardboard box printed like an amplifier that immediately grabbed my 8 year old guitar playing kid’s attention. He couldn’t wait to dig into the box and when we did, we found a spiral bound activity book chock full of musical concepts that can be learned while doing the activities together.
We’ve tackled projects involving measuring and cutting large straws to make a pitch flute (loved the integration of measuring with this activity), assembling a drum set to teach percussion, and next up on our list is that cardboard amplifier! Cooper and Kid projects are perhaps more lengthy than other ones that come in competing subscription boxes and they’re not designed to be ones that kids do on their own. This kit isn’t designed to be a set of stuff that you throw at your kids to occupy them while you do something else. And honestly, that’s quite refreshing. While this makes a great gift for dads, grandparents, and uncles, there’s no bias against moms doing these activities with their kids either. The founder, Nichole Smaglick, spent many years living with and studying warrior cultures in Africa where strong male figures reveled in emotional bonding with their children and she saw firsthand how deeply transformative an experience it can be for both father and child.

Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
I have been wanting an Ottebox for a while now. It needs to be pink, though 🙂
Leticia says
Robin- If you need an OtterBox Resurgence for an iPhone 5, it comes in a gorgeous pinkish-red. That’s what I use on my phone now, at least until I get my iPhone 6 and the bright red one! OtterBox also makes a lot of other pink cases for iPhone. Let me know if I can help you choose one to meet your needs! Happy to help!
Tamara @ We3Travel says
What a great selection! I love the charger with the built in stand, that is a great design.
Leticia says
Tamara- I agree! I featured that one because it’s different from all the other chargers I’ve seen! The price is also fantastic for the mAh!
Krystyn @ Really, Are You Serious? says
Each enough! I can just forward this to my hubby and have him pick something for me! Great list for Valentine’s Day for a techie!
Leticia says
Thanks Krystyn! Sometimes the best gifts are thoughtful ones you can use everyday that remind you how much the other cares about you! 🙂
Pilar says
This list is fantastic! You had me at tangle-resistant cords 🙂 I’m also super intrigued by the Otterbox case. I’m a Mophie user, but would love to know if you have any insights as to what makes the former better than the latter.
Leticia says
PIlar- I’ve used both the Mophie and OtterBox Resurgence for my iPhone 5 and felt that the OtterBox provided more protection. I also think that my Mophie started to wear out whereas my OtterBox is going strong even though I’m due for a phone upgrade. I’m definitely going to get an OtterBox again over the Mophie! Hope that helps!
