12 Year Old Emily Joins as an Official Tech Savvy Mama Contributor!

Through the years, loyal readers have watched Little Miss Techie grow from being the four year old preschooler who inspired this blog and the adorable Flip-O-Rama demonstrator who captured author Dav Pilkey’s attention to a poised young woman who decided to shed her alias all on her own.

As this blog has grown, Emily has too. The concerns we once had about the role technology would play in our daughter’s young life have disappeared as we see our 12 year old embracing it and using it in ways we never thought possible eight years ago when I started blogging.

Like all kids, she uses technology fluently. It’s just a part of what she does and how she operates whether she’s texting me about plans with friends, walking her grandmother through sending a photo on an iPad over the phone, or chasing after the great light that falls in our backyard during Golden Hour.

Although she’s been dabbling in blogging for the past few years over on Balsamic Camel, I’m going to ask you to join me in this proud mom moment to welcome Emily as a paid contributor to Tech Savvy Mama!

It seems like a logical next step for a girl who loves to write, seems to be a natural in front of the camera, and has her own opinions about the many items that come to our door. After all, if she can get her brother to talk about farts on camera and then turn around and come up with good questions to ask Buzz Aldrin or talk about impressive technology that will change the world like she did as a kid-correspondent at Microsoft’s Imagine Cup, it seems only fair that I give her a little corner of the blog to share her honest opinions, after she completes her homework, of course!
