With the lazy days of summer behind us and school starting, parents everywhere are exhaling as routines resume and we settle into another year. But before we get too caught up in homework, after school activities, extra-curricular interests, and the general busyness that comes with the fall season, it’s fun to savor summer just a bit longer by reliving those memories.
These days most of us scroll and swipe through family moments stored on our phones in digital galleries of thumbnails but sometimes it’s nice to have printed photo products to remember the fun that you had together. While it may seem like one more step and another thing on your always growing to-do list, CVS Photo makes it easy to print the photos you want, any way that you’d like.
CVS Photo offers a number of different options for printing photos and photo gifts including their website and easy-to-use app. Earlier this year I wrote about how you can print photos from your phone for same day pickup using the CVS Pharmacy App’s Photo Center. The ease and convenience of printing photos right from your phone’s Gallery, Facebook, or Instagram account for same day pickup at the store can’t be beat. It’s an absolute lifesaver when a child comes home from school and tells you they have a photo based project due the next day and your home printer is out of the ink you need for your color printer.
Ordering Photo Gifts from CVS Photo That Ship for Free to Your Local Store
If you’re looking for more than prints, CVS Photo offers an array of gorgeous gifts. CVS Photo is a feature on the CVS website that you can access when you login with your email and password. Just look for the tab next to pharmacy, MinuteClinic, Shop, ExtraCare, and Optical along the top navigation bar.
CVS Photo offers photo books, large format canvas prints, calendars, passport photos, and tons of home décor items can be designed online that can be shipped to your home or to your local store.
Since I publish many of my photos from my phone to Instagram and Facebook but also have many photos on my computer, I like being able to pull images from a variety of different sources directly into CVS Photo. Clicking on Add Photos in the upper right corner of the screen gives me options to pull photos from My Device (aka my computer), Facebook, or Instagram.
When you upload pictures, you have the opportunity to name the album and write a short description which can be so helpful for organizing your many digital photos. With just one click, you can order prints of the entire album or select certain photos for photo gifts.
I selected one of my favorite photos of my kids to create wall art. I’ve always loved large format canvases but recently have been enthralled with the vibrancy of metal prints. With my photo uploaded, the icons on the left side allows me to navigate through the photo gift options from CVS Photo.
With Metal Wall Prints selected, I simply use the drop down menu to choose the size and orientation that will best fit my photo and click Make This Product. The site directs me to my photo albums to select the photos I want for my project. Clicking the red check mark in the bottom right corner of my photo and then clicking the red Add to Project button in the upper right corner of my screen adds the photos I want to the project editor. Once I have my photos added, I simply drag and drop to place them in my project.
Photo editing tools are available to adjust your images once you’ve placed them in your project. Simply click and drag to reposition or use the toolbar above your image to rotate, swap, view the full photo, or delete it to add another. When your project is exactly how you want it, click the red Review and Buy in the upper right corner of the screen. Since it can be difficult to finish photo projects in one sitting, CVS Photo allows you to name and save your project for completion at a later date.
Order Items to Ship to Your Local Store for Free In-Store Pickup
When you’re ready to place your order, you have the option to have your photo project shipped to your home or sent to your local CVS for local pickup. Having your product shipped to your local store is free while shipping to your home via USPS ranges in price from $6.99 for standard shipping to $24.99 for overnight shipping.
Since my local CVS is close to my house, I chose to pick up my item in-store to save on the shipping cost. I entered my zip code and a list of stores popped up for me to select from and the pick up location was confirmed with my order. Note: Not all stores offer in-store pickup so the one closest to your home might not be an option.
With the ability to pick up my metal print in store, I can pick it up when it’s ready at a time that’s most convenient to me. I don’t have to worry about being home for delivery and having a package sitting on my front door if I’m not home. Since my item has already been paid for, my CVS store will hold it at the photo counter for me.
Summary
Using CVS Photo was an easy way to transform digital images into physical photo products and with convenient in store pickup, I’m able to save money on shipping costs and pick up my items at a time that works well for me.
Need some help getting started using the CVS Photo App to order prints from your phone for pickup at your local store? It’s easy especially when you watch my video that shows you how to order photos using the CVS Pharmacy App!
Disclosure: I’m proud to partner with CVS Pharmacy for the How Do You Photo Activation. I am being sponsored by CVS Pharmacy for my posts and activities, but all opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at CVS.com or with the appropriate manufacturers.
Having tangible objects with photos really does beat having photos only in the digital world!
That looks really nice! Thanks for sharing this 🙂
