16 Mother’s Day Gifts to Make Mom Swoon

April 27, 2018 By Leticia

This year show mom you truly love her by surprising with something she wouldn’t think to get herself. Here are 16 great Mother’s Day gift ideas in all price ranges that will make her swoon, regardless of your budget.

Handmade Mother’s Day Gifts & Gifts that Give Back

Earrings from Loopholes Boutique on Etsy (starting at $9/pair)

Started by tween and teen sisters at a yard sale in their Philadelphia suburbs last spring, now just a year later Loopholes Boutique’s darling and affordable line of earrings are available through their Etsy store and locally at Monkeyfish Toys. Handmade clip and pierced styles feature beads procured during the family’s global travels.

Delicate pierced silver wire ball earrings (pictured above) are a perfect accessory for a LBD. Styles like the tiny teacup and saucer earrings ($10.73), Black Mayan inspired earrings ($11.73) or green floral bead earrings ($10.13) would be perfect gifts as a reminder of a past family vacation to England, Mexico, or Venice. If mom is an Instagram aficionado, get her a pair of the camera earrings for $8.73 .

I absolutely love that Loopholes Boutique is led by an entrepreneurial tween and teen and has become a family venture. The story of Loopholes Boutique is worth sharing and next week I’ll be featuring a guest post by dad, Jeff Bogle, who is in charge of product photography and teaching economics lessons related to the business when he’s not writing over on Out with the Kids and elsewhere.

Embroidered Nightgowns & Linens from Haiti Projects (starting at $12)

Haiti

Earlier this year I had the opportunity to visit the women artisan of Haiti Projects. Watching them embroider delicate flowers on crisp white nightgowns, sprigs of lavender on pillow cases ($25), and traditional Haitian veves on zippered pouches ($18), makes you realize exactly how much your purchase means to the women who is in front of you. Haiti Projects provides women in rural Haiti with employment where they earn fair wages for their work that helps improve the quality of life for those in need.

Del Día Backpack from Cotopaxi ($49.95)

Get mom a backpack as unique as she is that is made of recycled materials by a company that works to alleviates poverty in sustainable ways. Yes, Cotopaxi products are amazing! I recently received the Del Día Backpack and it has quickly become my new favorite travel backpack for family trips. Made with remnant materials by employees who have creative control over its final look, my Cotopaxi Del Día Backpack is one of a kind. Not only does this mean my kids can spot me in a crowd much faster than they used to but this lightweight, durable, and colorful backpack has helped keep fabric out of landfills and empowers employees through improved livelihoods where they have creative control over the products they make.

Your Family Recipe on a Kitchen Towel from Canvastry ($24-26)

Canvastry are custom printed kitchen towels that can feature a favorite family recipe, child’s artwork, or other graphic that has a special meaning to mom. I love the idea of these tea towels as a modern gift to preserve memories and recipes that should be passed down from generation to generation. They’re easy to make- just choose a style of towel, upload your artwork or graphics, and add the item to your cart and check out. Canvastry’s team of designers will review your art to make sure it will look the best and it will be printed and shipped in 3 days or less. Get 25% off with the code MOMDAY25

Regular Shipments of the Freshest Coffee from Swell Coffee (starting at $17 for a 12 oz bag)

Caffeine addicts know the difference between a great and mediocre cup of coffee and doesn’t mom deserve the best? Swell Coffee is responsibly sourced by the company who works directly with farmers or a farming group to select single origin lots. A Swell Sample Pack ($10 for 2 ounce sample bags of 6 different coffees) pairs nicely with a new mug or shop the many flavors offered by Swell here. Once mom discovers one she loves, Swell makes it easy to make sure she always has her favorite in the house thanks to a subscription service that delivers coffee on a regular basis. Choose a weekly delivery, a shipment every 2 weeks, or a monthly drop and save 10% off the regular price.

Personalized Photo Puzzle from Ravensburger ($27.92 and up)

Take a favorite family photo or snapshot that will bring memories flooding back, choose the number of puzzle pieces you’d like (100 and up), and Ravensburger will transform it into a gorgeous photo puzzle. All Ravensburger puzzles are made in, and ship from, Germany so be sure to order yours by Tuesday, May 1 in order to guarantee on-time delivery. I think one of my favorite memories with my Mother was when she was ‘teaching’me to bake a cake and totally messed it up! Honestly, my Mother worked two jobs to support us, but was determined t teach me to bake. She and I made a cake, and it was winter. This cake was so bad the birds wouldnt even touch it . She threw the thing out, and really, it was there after the snow melted. She neve could figure out what wnt wrong and we laughed and laughed. Oddly, I sill dont bake cakes well.

Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day because we’re so glad Goldie and Murphy are part of our family! 🐶 We gave Goldie her forever home when she was 6 months old. She had been given up by her original family because she was just too much for them. She was an enthusiastic pup who loved to jump straight up in the air when she got excited and she used to hop the fence in the mornings to go visit her best dog friend, Katy, over our back fence. She still jumps from standing when she sees a deer, meets a favorite dog friend, or gets a visit from @lisatasch but now at age 5, she’s more calm and forever faithful. 🦮We met Murphy and his 9 brothers and sisters just days after he was born although we didn’t know he would be the puppy we’d claim as ours. Murphy has that puppy energy but in his quiet moments is a total love bug. He hogs the free space in our king bed (he even has his own pillow!) and loves nothing more than to press his body into me or lie directly on me. 🐾 Goldie and Murphy came to us through @labrescuelrcp and we couldn’t be happier that they’re part of our family! ❤️ #rescuedogday #labrescue #labrador #adoptdontshop
After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hos After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I’m leaving Memphis so very grateful to be able to support St. Jude’s mission of working to end childhood cancer. ❤️ Spending time connecting, brainstorming, and absorbing the wisdom of fellow Hero Ambassadors from around the country was inspiring because the work we do fundraising through our endurance events helps St. Jude do the incredible work they do to ensure families never receive a bill for their child’s treatment, housing, travel, or food and continue important research that will continue to reduce rates of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. I am so looking forward to running in Memphis again this December! 🎉 If you’ve ever thought of running a race that does so much good in the world, join me! I’d love to have you come to Memphis and run with me! Or you can always donate through the fundraising link in my bio. ❤️ #stjude #stjudeheroes #memphis #stjudedmv

Swipe ⬅️ for more information, including a QR code with more information and a survey to take as part of the sign up process. And if you have any questions- leave a comment or DM me. I’m happy to help you get certified too! ❤️ #mentalhealth #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthfirstaid #youthmentalhealth #mentalhealthawarenessmonth
