The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) invite you to attend a free webcast on April 23, 2008 at 7:00p.m. EDT. The event will launch a new nationwide campaign to educate parents on video game ratings, parental controls and online safety.
The webcast will feature remarks by PTA National President Jan Harp Domene, ESRB President Patricia Vance and GamerDad.com’s Andrew Bub. The event will provide parents with information about computer and video game ratings; offer a demonstration on setting up parental controls on new video game platforms; and provide guidance about playing video games online. All of the topics covered in the event are also included in the PTA and ESRB’s new booklet, “A Parent’s Guide to Video Games, Parental Controls and Online Safety” (PDF). Following the panel presentation, parents and members of the media will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Interested individuals can register for this free event now. Members of the media with additional questions can contact Eliot Mizrachi at the ESRB via emizrachi@esrb.org or Kathryn Zimmer at the PTA via kzimmer@pta.org.
If you can’t make tonight’s free webcast, download the PDF using this link for tips on video game ratings, how to set parental controls on consoles and other online safety tips.
