Sometimes I feel like I live 2 lives- my real life with my friends who I see on a regular basis and a virtual life with friends I’ve met throughout the blogosphere.
In just a couple weeks worlds will collide as my virtual friends will become real when I meet them at my very first BlogHer. Real as in I’ll have a person to put with the name attached to an e-mail account, blog title, or a Twitter name. I’ll get to meet the wonderful moms all over the country who are part of the Silicon Valley Moms Group, my fellow Being Savvy City Editors, and meet many new people who are only known to me through what they write about on their blogs.
I’ve heard all about what to wear (comfortable shoes), the parties (lots!), and read about the sessions. By the way, BlogHer veterans- will there be a session on monetizing my blog? Because as much as I love my little hobby and see it as a public service, my hobby isn’t even coming close to paying for my flight and conference registration. Maybe some kind soul out there wants to sponsor me! Hint hint HP and 5 Minutes for Mom.
Regardless, I’m going. And I’m going to have a fab time! As a Bay Area native, San Francisco has always been home to me.
And when I get there, I’ll eagerly await the arrival of the road tripping members of the Silicon Valley Moms Group. Yes, some of my real and virtual blogging friends are road tripping it across the country from DC to San Francisco and blogging the entire way! Starting on Friday I’ll be following their adventures as chronicled on the Summer Road Trip.
I don’t know what will be more of an adventure- me and my husband with our toddler and preschooler on a cross country flight or 5 moms in a Chevy Hybrid SUV with in-car wireless internet access, GPS system, cameras and video recording technology, video games, music, and so much more. Hmmm…I think I can guess! Drive safely ladies and make sure to bring the swag!
If you’ll be at BlogHer, leave a comment so I can be sure to meet up with you!
Now if I could just figure out what to wear…

Wow! It’s hard to believe you’ve only been blogging for a few months – you’re so savvy!
Have a wonderful trip and be sure to let us know all about it. Hopefully next year I’ll be able to go!
I’ll be there and meet you at the very first party!
I’m dressing up for Thursday night…after that I’m not sure. And I’m having back problems, so no fancy heels for me. In fact, no heels at all, which stinks because I’m only 5 feet tall. I hope you find me in the crowds!
