Since today is the first of the month, it is also time for the Perfect Post Awards. Hosted by Lindsay and Kimberly, the Perfect Post Awards were created for bloggers and given by bloggers.
What is a Perfect Post?
Each month Kimberly explains it as a “post that made you cry, touched your heart, had you laughing out loud or made you believe in magic again. Whatever the word perfect means to you.” And while it is great to get a Perfect Post Award, it is more fun to give them. Perfect Post Awards have been around longer than I have been blogging but are sadly coming to an end at the end of the year.
So, dear readers, without further ado, this month’s Perfect Post Award goes to Monica from Lady M and Silicon Valley Moms Blog.
Monica is skilled at one handed computer use but her Silicon Valley Moms Blog post titled Steve Jobs Couldn’t Ask for a Better Pitchman was funny and spot on. Not only is this something that I can see happening in our home but also a great example of how tech savvy our children are at a young age. Or how well Apple is marketing across demographic groups.
Here’s an excerpt:
As far as preschooler bedtime routines go, ours is pretty average. After the usual hygiene related activities like potty, washing hands, and brushing teeth, we choose a song and story. My husband usually reads a book to our preschooler while I put the baby to sleep – pretty traditional stuff. The song, however, has become a YouTube selection.
A few nights ago, I was putting both kids to bed, so I got to help with the music choice.
“Let’s go to my computer,” I said.
“Do you have an iPhone, Mama?” asked the little dude.
“No, I don’t have an iPhone, honey.”
Like Monica’s preschooler, YouTube is becoming part of Little Miss Techie and Captain Computer world and while no one in our home has tried to sell us Apple products, this is certainly where our family is headed very soon. Now if one of our children (ages 4 1/2 and 2) starts wearing a black mock turtleneck with jeans while holding Apple devices in front of an extra large screen then we’re really in trouble!
Thanks Monica for a post that made me laugh out of sheer fear!
