On Wednesday morning while I was in the ER and the doctor was investigating my serious back pain, it had crossed my mind that maybe I wouldn’t be able to host my e.l.f. Cosmetics brunch. But even though I may not have been capable of getting myself dressed, cancelling on my 10 extremely busy friends who had saved their Saturday wasn’t an option.
So how do you pull off a brunch when you can’t sit, stand, or really walk never mind the painkiller cocktail that was making me loopy?
Giant Food to the rescue! Thankfully I had planned out my menu the week before by taking a trip to the store sans kids and had already bought non-perishable items like bulk coffee beans and sparkling juices that could keep until the following week. I walked through the store noting that I could mix ‘n match $3.99 bouquets for my floral arrangements, pick up quiche from the prepared food section by the deli, grab bite size desserts like éclairs, fruit tartlets, and mini cheesecakes from the Simply Enjoy line in the frozen section, and ready cut fruit from the produce area the day before the party. Besides the food from Giant, Stonyfield Yogurt had sent me coupons for Oikos (my favorite Greek yogurt- love the honey!) and Steaz sent a variety of organic green teas for my guests to sample while getting to try 283 pieces of makeup from e.l.f.
To share the e.l.f. Cosmetics brunch with you, I made my first story on Whrrl. Check it out!
I was selected by SheSpeaks to host this event. As the hostess, I was not compensated for holding this party nor was I compensated for writing this post.
Special thanks to Giant Food, Stonyfield Yogurt, and Steaz for providing food for our brunch. Also thank you to the Clever Girls Collective, Scholastic, and the Mama Law Media Group/Blogalicious for contributing items to the swag bags.

Your brunch was an absolute delight. I’m inspired to start wearing some more makeup with my new fun products. We would never have known that you weren’t feeling well if you hadn’t told us. I hope you’re all better by now. Thank you so much for hosting!!
It was so much fun! I felt totally pampered having Katrina do my make-up for me. Now I feel like I should wear make-up more often. Thanks for hosting!
