Workout Wednesday: Win a Copy of YourShape Fitness for the Kinect!

January 12, 2011 By Leticia

If you made a fitness resolution this year and have thought that YourShape Fitness for the Kinect might help you achieve your goals, I can attest to the fact that it can!   Instead of hearing from me like you have every Wednesday over the past 10 weeks, this week is your opportunity to share a fitness goal you have for this year and tell me how you think YourShape might help you!

By sharing your goal through the comments, you’ll be entered to win a Ubisoft Prize Pack featuring a copy of YourShape and other great Ubisoft items!  Feel free to go back through my Workout Wednesday posts to learn more about the game since the best comment will win!
Ubisoft Prize Pack!
The reader with the best comment about how YourShape will help them achieve their fitness goals in 2011 will receive:
  • A copy of YourShape Fitness for the Kinect
  • A choice of either the pink cat or blue dog Petz Accessory Set for a Nintendo DS containing a soft case that fits the DS like a glove, 6 game cases, cleaning cloth, case leash, and a Petz charm from Ubisoft’s popular Petz game franchise.
  • And a Just Dance 2 headband!  Did you know that Just Dance is a Ubisoft product too?  It’s also an awesome workout- hence the need for the retro headband.
Another winner will be randomly selected to win the second Petz Nintendo DS Accessory Set.
For additional entries, you must complete the above and do any of the following:
  • Tweet this daily and link to your tweet in your comment:  I shared my 2011 fitness goals w/ @TechSavvyMama & entered her #YourShape #Kinect #giveaway: http://bit.ly/faX1mD  Please RT!

Well my goal is to get in shape by toning up so that I can lose inches first instead of making weight loss my main objective, first by walking and then progressing to aerobics

From Nicole on duplicate post: Having friends push you along makes all the difference in the world. My goal is to continue to work out with my husband both at home and the gym while also taking exercise classes at the gym with a good friend. She’s even asked to come over and work out with me on MY copy of Your Shape Fitness Evolved. It’s an incredible workout and I am just as sore from it as from a workout at the gym. (I do gym on M/W and Your Shape no T/Th). So you’re probably asking why I’m entering… so that I can utilize the “challenge friends and family” feature!

I need something that will keep me on track with my weight loss goals and I think the “Your Shape” game will help me greatly with that. I don’t have a clue how to go about doing an effective exercise program that will teach me the exercises I need to lose weight, while making the routines fun and challenging in the process. And I feel, once I start going in and making progress, my wife and kids will want to join in also!

Going to the gym is just too hard during Iowa winters, and an effective game like this one for the Kinect is exactly the solution for those of us that hate the cold! Plus, it incorporates workouts for men from Men’s Health, and their routines are always great. So, my goal would be to work up to the advanced levels of the Men’s Health workouts and drop a pants size or two!

My goals for 2011 are to get stronger and have a positive exercise/nutrition influence on my kids and sisters.

I am always looking for fun and interactive ways to get healthier. My kids need to see that fitness is fun and I’d love to find a routine that’s easy and fun so I could get my sisters involved.

They have had a very hard time sticking to any sort of routine and I’d love to motivate them with this game.

Your Shape fitness evolved is perfect for me with a 2 month old baby and 3 year old. I can do it while the baby naps and my 3 year old will think it is fun. It will take me from post baby fat to who the heck is that?!

I think that YourShape will help me achieve my fitness goals in 2011, because it is a “game” that lets you make the rules. You get to choose if you want to really loose weight, tone up, or just burn calories by playing. And if you really need a boost you have a trainer & the ability to post your results online to get support from your friends and family. It is completely up to yourself to achieve your goals, and this game gives you all of the tools to do so.

We got a Kinect for Christmas, and I’ve been enjoying the Adventures Game on it, but it isn’t truly a huge workout. My challenge is that my gym is 20 minutes (or a little more) away from my house. The number of days where I have 15 minutes less than what I need to get there, work out, take a shower, and get to where I need to be kills me – it’s at least twice a week that I *want* to work out but don’t have the time. If I could roll the coffee table out of the way and do it here, that would be great. I’m in the process of training for a 5K, and having something that would keep my cardio up there and doing what I need to do to keep moving in that direction on days I physically can’t get to the gym would keep me from having to repeat weeks in my C25K (or from having to make up my own weeks, like this week where I did Week 3.5) 😉

My goal? I cant lay the blame on babies, that been alot of years ago- mine is post menopausal weight. Gals if you think baby weight is a PITB, just wait 🙂
My goal is to lose a little bit of this ‘pudge’ I have gained, but mostly I would like to get fitter to keep my bones strong! That, and be healthier in general.
I try to do something outdoors everyday no matter the weather, but -20 kicks my behind – so I try and use DVDs, but honestly, they are kinda boring. These new games look so fun, and I have followed your journey.
So another goal, is to have FUN again moving and getting strong.
I am saving my dollars for this Kinect thing!

Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day be Today we’re celebrating National Rescue Dog Day because we’re so glad Goldie and Murphy are part of our family! 🐶 We gave Goldie her forever home when she was 6 months old. She had been given up by her original family because she was just too much for them. She was an enthusiastic pup who loved to jump straight up in the air when she got excited and she used to hop the fence in the mornings to go visit her best dog friend, Katy, over our back fence. She still jumps from standing when she sees a deer, meets a favorite dog friend, or gets a visit from @lisatasch but now at age 5, she’s more calm and forever faithful. 🦮We met Murphy and his 9 brothers and sisters just days after he was born although we didn’t know he would be the puppy we’d claim as ours. Murphy has that puppy energy but in his quiet moments is a total love bug. He hogs the free space in our king bed (he even has his own pillow!) and loves nothing more than to press his body into me or lie directly on me. 🐾 Goldie and Murphy came to us through @labrescuelrcp and we couldn’t be happier that they’re part of our family! ❤️ #rescuedogday #labrescue #labrador #adoptdontshop
After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospi After 3 days at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I’m leaving Memphis so very grateful to be able to support St. Jude’s mission of working to end childhood cancer. ❤️ Spending time connecting, brainstorming, and absorbing the wisdom of fellow Hero Ambassadors from around the country was inspiring because the work we do fundraising through our endurance events helps St. Jude do the incredible work they do to ensure families never receive a bill for their child’s treatment, housing, travel, or food and continue important research that will continue to reduce rates of pediatric cancer and other childhood diseases. I am so looking forward to running in Memphis again this December! 🎉 If you’ve ever thought of running a race that does so much good in the world, join me! I’d love to have you come to Memphis and run with me! Or you can always donate through the fundraising link in my bio. ❤️ #stjude #stjudeheroes #memphis #stjudedmv
